Grade 11 Food Drive A group of Grade 11 students is organizing a food drive in for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Their goal is to raise awareness of people in need and provide a way to help.

They will be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations until December 14th. The most needed items are:

• Canned beans & chickpeas; • Natural peanut butter; • Canned chicken, turkey, vegetables, fruit, fish; • Brown rice, barley, or whole-wheat pasta or couscous.

Or you can send in a cheque made out to: Point Grey Secondary School – food drive. Receipts are available upon request for donations over $50 and will be sent out after the food drive ends in Mid-January. Cheques can be left in the school office or items can be brought to Room 316, Ms. Ehn’s room.

If you have any questions please contact the PAC and we’ll forward your email on to the group. Thanks to Ella Zhou, Melinda Ren, Shirai Kang, Sophia Phuong and Tina Guo for all your hard work!

Kids Plus™ Accident Insurance The Vancouver School District, as a partner school board, provides parents with the opportunity to purchase insurance coverage through Kids Plus™. The main website https://www.kidsplus.ca/ is available for parents to access information about purchase coverage; claims forms and full plan information online.

The Vancouver School District is offering you the opportunity to voluntarily purchase student accident insurance through the Kids Plus™ Accident Insurance program, underwritten by Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services.

Kids Plus™ Accident Insurance provides protection against unexpected costs arising from accidental injuries. The program is especially valuable for families who do not have medical or dental plans; have limited plans; or have active children who enjoy sports and outdoor activities.

Kids Plus™ Accident Insurance has a selection of plans to suit most budgets. Benefits include:

• Coverage for the full school year (September to September), 24 hours a day, while at home and in school;

• Expenses that are often limited or not covered by private or group insurance plans, or Provincial Health Insurance, such as physiotherapy, private tutoring, counselling, and much more;

• Injury-related dental treatment; • Out-of-province or country emergency medical expenses.

Insurance premiums for children are $14.50 or $33.50/year, depending upon plan. Adults 20-64 can also be insured for $32/year.
