September 7, 2013 Greetings, Everyone! We are sorry that we’ve been away for some time, but we’re back and in full swing. We are excited to share all of our wonderful news with you and keep you updated on the latest happenings at the Port. Just over a week ago, we installed our brand NEW Point of Sale (POS) System. It has certainly been an adventure, but we are thrilled to have our new system operational and it’s easing both the front and back-of- the-house activities so we can better focus our attention on our guests. We also introduced a new format for both the Lunch and Dinner Menus, as well as updated versions of our Carryout Menus. Stop by the Port and see our new additions and changes. We’d like to thank everyone who attended our joint-venture wine tasting with the McHenry County Chapter of the Illinois Restaurant Association. We had more than 70 different wines from seven vendors and helped raise funds for the McHenry County Chapter of the I.R.A. Scholarship Fund (and note to all, new prospective members are always encouraged and welcomed, so please join if you haven’t already). Next month, we will be hosting our first Wine Tasting Dinner under the careful direction of Executive Chef Randy Waters and incoming General Manager, Imre Kalman. We are excited to bring this favorite event back to the Port. More details will follow as the planning is finalized. We’ll share all of the updates as we prepare the menu, wines, and pricing. We look forward to hosting more exciting tasting events in the future and having you as our guest. It’s never too early to start thinking about holiday arrangements and we have established our holiday schedule so you can begin planning. See our list of days and hours on the following page. Speaking of holidays...this year we are once again happy to offer 10% off the food portion of any holiday party that is booked on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, with at least 25 guests attending. Port Edward Holiday Schedule

• Halloween (Party) - Saturday, November 2. We’ll host our traditional Costume Party in the Salem Lounge. All guests in costume will receive a $10 Gift Certificate and prizes will be awarded for best dressed. Gift Certificates will be awarded for the three best dressed: $100, $50, and $25, respectively.

• Thanksgiving - Open 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. Closing at 5:00 pm. Buffet only. $34.99/person. Featuring Brunch favorites and traditional holiday fare. Details to follow.

• Christmas Eve - Open 11:30 am – 8:00 pm. Regular Lunch and Dinner Menus will be available. Lounge hours will vary based upon volume.

• Christmas Day - Closed for family celebrations.

• New Years Eve - Open 11:30 am – through midnight. Dinner will be served until 11:00 pm. Champagne Toast at midnight in the Salem Lounge.

• New Years Day - Champagne Brunch from 9:30 am – 3:00 pm. $34.99/person. No Dinner service.

As we move forward, we always value the input of our guests. We listen intently to your comments and suggestions through our online survey, comment cards, emails, phone calls, and social media. We love hearing from you and would love to know what you’d like to see at the Port in terms of new menu items, drink specials, entertainment, and anything else you’d like to share. We have many great ideas based upon feedback we have received already, and we look forward to introducing new items in the near future. From all of us at the Port, thank you for being a part of our family and we look forward to seeing you soon.
