Connection
APPLICATION: Used as fire extinguishing equipment, may be connected to drinking water or industrial water systems PN 10 as follows: - connecting flanges DN 65÷125 PN10 ISO 7005-2; DIN 2501; BS EN 1092-2; - to PEHD pipe with socket and locking sleeve; - connecting flanges DN 65÷125 DIN 28604 PN10 for ductile iron pipes. It has been designed in order to operate in difficult working media, industrial areas, seaside or with hot climate. DESIGN AND WORKING CHARACTERISTICS: The underground hydrant HSX is manufactured in conformity with STAS 695 issued in cooperation with Firemen’s Committee. Allows the connection of portable hydrant STAS 698 or the connection of portable hydrant with valves STAS 697. The hydrant is has been designed to carry out the following functions: - shutting-off - opening – by operating hydrant stem with a special driving key (STAS 696), the operating stress being low; - at opening, the draining system shall be completely obturated, internal parts design assuring a minimum head loss, and at shutting-off the draining system shall be opened in order to allow water removal from the hydrant; - complete hydrant disassembling and spare parts replacement may be easily performed; - freezing protection – hydrant internal part, being above the main seat, shall be released of the water remained after operation. The bore located at the lower part assures an inside draining within max. 10 minutes. Waste water volume remained into the hydrant after complete draining is not exceeding 50 cm³; - disc gasket may be replaced without hydrant digging out. COMPONENTS: 1. Protection box - in conformity with STAS 3226; 2. Hydrant - in conformity with STAS 695; 3. Foot elbow: - flanged (standard execution); - with flange and locking sleeve (execution on order); - with flange and sleeve - in conformity with STAS 1875 (execution on order). MATERIALS OF MAIN PARTS: - obturator box, obturator body, bonnet, body, nut support, driving head: - cast iron EN GJL 250 SR EN 1561; GG25 DIN 1691; - body of jaw connection: - ductile iron EN GJS 500-7 SR EN 1563; GGG50 DIN 1693; - stem nut, seating ring, disc seat: - copper alloy; - stem, connecting pipe: min. 11,5% Cr stainless steel; 410 S21 BS 1506; X20Cr13 DIN 17440; - obturator, gaskets: - EPDM rubber STAS 7278; - bolting: - stainless steel A2-70. PROTECTION AGAINST CORROSION: All internal surfaces, except for: rubber, stainless steel or bronze surfaces, also external surfaces of underground part are coated with epoxy powder paint 250µm thick, GSK quality, standard colour RAL 3009. Protection box is coated with zinc primer and black resin epoxy paint. DESIGN AND WORKING CHARACTERISTICS:
Designed in 3 modules, FOCUS hydrant ensures besides a modern design a performance at the level ighest European exigencies in matters of fire extinguishing equipment and valves. FOCUS was designed for operation in difficult medium conditions, industrial areas, and seaside or cold
. Internal and external coating system with epoxy powder meeting GSK norm requirements, also all manufactured in stainless steel A2-70, assure a long lifetime. FOCUS meets the requirements of DIN 3222 and STAS 3479, carrying out the following functions:
