SPORT, for whom……? For customer seeking a technologically advanced product.. An accurate selection of raw materials and a continuous search of new production techniques confer our product a high technological level which allows a balanced cost/quality ratio. The care in implementing the product is furthermore supported by an efficient commercial organization; highly qualified engineers and salesmen with permanently updated tools and means provide a thorough service to Customer. SPORT was designed and built with the objective to face a steadily evolving market in terms of strategies for competition on quality, economy and market presence. Even after thousands of washes, a modem system should remain as on the first day it was started. Ryko, with its new SPORT system, creates once again new parameters for a quality concept.

The bearing structure, consisting of three main elements only, keeps a very high rigidity against oscillations thanks to rugged rectangular profiles. The modern laser cutting techniques used in manufacturing the SPORT structure assure a great coupling accuracy of metal frame parts, with minimal gaps. All screws and bolts are made of stainless steel with a high hardness degree to prevent deformation of threads due to high tightening torque. The system structure is fully hot dip galvanized so that there will be no rusting even after many years: Ryko Italia warrants it for 7 years.

A great step forward: Ryko Italia, as a result of many experiences with actual operation tests, manufactures all rotating parts of the SPORT system with slide bearings made of techno polymer. Unlike ball bearings, “high-tech” polymers – reinforced with fibers and solid lubricant additives – can operate dry, keeping their mechanical properties plus low friction coefficient unchanged in time, and assuring a long life. The rotating shafts and bushes are made of very hard stainless steel with a high surface finish grade so that abrasion is quite negligible and will not affect proper operation.

The brushing and horizontal drying drive and support assemblies use flat and timing belts made of polyurethane; these represent a reliable alternative to chain systems by assuring a very high power transmission performance, keeping constant tensions throughout their life, and reducing maintenance costs as no lubrication is needed. The belt body is made of polyurethane with stainless steel traction cables inside which give the belt an extreme dimensional stability, such that the belt will not require any adjustments; the greater rating available has allowed to design smaller and compact power transmission and support systems, using pulleys of a smaller diameter and width.

The technical solutions

Page 4: Portale sport 1

The washing brushes and their drive apparatuses are specifically designed for cars and also lend themselves to tailor special performance and configurations to customer request. Softness and gentle movement, together with a high safety are necessary to assure optimum washing on any type of car in the world. SPORT is equipped with a sophisticated control device capable of adjusting with extreme accuracy the brush pressure onto the car body. A powerful 12 bit microprocessor samples and stores the current absorption of the brush rotation motor, and superintends all brush control functions up to four operation levels. (SENCO 5 PLUS)

Elements included in the basic scope of supply are: ♦ 1 horizontal filament brush ♦ 2 Pneumatic travelling side filament washers ♦ Bullbar, tow-hook safety device ♦ 1 dosing pumps ♦ Control panel on enclosure ♦ Manual Activation ♦ 9m. Hot Dipped Galvanized Track. ♦ Stainless steel screws ♦ Electric diagram ♦ User and maintenance manual

The technical solutions

Page 5: Portale sport 1

Vertical brushes: these are mounted on two independent trolleys sliding in two special profile 45° guides. Every trolley is moved by its own pneumatic cylinder which is controlled, upon opening and closing, by a sophisticated electronic device with four action levels: SENCO 5 PLUS. All brush wheels have stainless steel pivots and use sliding bearings made of technopolymer. No lubrication is needed. Top brush: it slides through two guides which are built into the system column and firmly locked there by two stop brackets. The brush, carried by flat belts made of polyurethane and stainless steel, rises and lowers by means of a special air cylinder equipped with valves for adjusting the up and down speeds respectively. The brush washing pressure onto the car body is adjusted by the SENCO 5 PLUS device to four pressure levels. Top Drying (optional): it takes place through a hot dip galvanized top blower, held by flat belts made of polyurethane and stainless steel. It always follows the car profile by means of three infrared sensors which control, via the P.L.C. logics, an air cylinder for up and down displacement. A ring safety device trips in presence of foreign obstacles on the car.

Main features

Page 6: Portale sport 1

Side Drying (optional): it takes place through two blowing vertical apertures, integrated in the system structure supported directly by shell motor fans. Same height for 225-255 models, different for 280 model. Moving: devices composed of gear motors with mechanical grade cast-iron worm screws and large diameter wheels coupled direct to the hub. These assemblies are built with the criteria of ensuring maximum dependability in time. The wheels are made of high strength steel, and their big diameter enables fast washing gantry speeds and a long duration. The idle wheels use self-lubricated sliding bearings made of technopolymer, which are reliable under high loads and resistant to wear of continuous rotatory movements. The rotation shafts are made of stainless steel. An automatic electronic speed controller (inverter) drives the traverse gear motors, so that their starts and stops are very soft and their life increased Tracks: these consist of special profile elements, very thick for long life. Their support plate is interrupted in some parts to allow the flow of washing waters into a collecting channel at the center of the bay. Anti-tilting safety devices are installed at the end of the system feet.

Main features

Page 7: Portale sport 1

First step: at the beginning of the bay, the system starts with the brushes and the shampoo assembly in operation and commences to wash the vehicle. The horizontal brush rises in front of the vehicle. Later on, the system feed makes a pause when the vertical brushes are in contact with the vehicle front, in order to accomplish, a operation to right and left, starting from the center. At the back of the vehicle, when the horizontal brush has lowered completely, the gantry moves away to allow the vertical brushes to close again. Once closed, after a few seconds the system interrupts the forward cycle. Second step: after a few seconds the system restarts, reverses the rotation of brushes, and washes the vehicle again by executing the same operations as in the forward cycle. During this phase, the wax sprayer starts. The cycle ends when the system is at bay beginning and all brushes have reached maximum position of vehicle off shape.

Wash dryer standard cycles

Page 8: Portale sport 1

Third step (in case of the dryer): at bay beginning, the brushes stop, compressed air is supplied to the hoses carrying the jets in order to eliminate the residual water. The horizontal blowers and then the side blowers will start. The horizontal blowing aperture starts lowering till it reaches the lowest part, and the system moves toward the vehicle. In coincidence with it, the horizontal aperture, through its photocells, commences the drying cycle by following the car profile till lowering down in proximity of the car back side. Special safety rings, located on the horizontal aperture, intervene stopping the gantry traverse in presence of objects not pertaining to a car shape. Fourth step: the system reverses its direction, the horizontal aperture accomplishes the cycle in reverse by following the vehicle profile till the system reaches the bay startpoint. In this position, the semaphore green light gets lit only when the horizontal aperture has reached its maximum height position.

Standard cycles

Page 9: Portale sport 1

In order to be able to better wash every kind of vehicle, the machine can be equipped with options that improve both the result and the customer satisfaction Top dryer: horizontal held by flat belts made of polyurethane and stainless steel. It always follows the car profile by means of three infrared sensors which control, via the P.L.C. logics, an air cylinder for up and down displacement. A single ring safety device trips in presence of foreign obstacles on the car. Side dryer: it takes place through two blowing vertical apertures, integrated in the system structure. Wheel washer: it washes the wheel rim by means of two disk brushes which are controlled by a special sensor. The drawer type support of the wheel washer slides, upon opening and closing, by means of an air cylinder. During the washing cycle the disk brush reverses its rotation direction and the washing gantry makes a to-and-fro traverse movement, at reduced speed, for adapting the brush better to large diameter rims (jeeps, vans, etc.). The wheel washer height from floor is adjustable; in its approach stroke to the wheels the brush lowers toward the floor to adapt itself to small diameter rims.

The main optional

Page 10: Portale sport 1

Foam bath: Device that covers the vehicle with a thick layer of white shampoo. Besides being efficient in washing, it gives a stunning effect. Once having parked a car at the bay and selected a program, the system starts and executes the program by dispensing "foam shampoo" through a dosing pump. System feed displacement is fast during this step. Rotating High Pressure pre-wash: Side stainless steel manifolds with 70 bar high impact pump; 42 liters per minute. It dissolves mud and removes grime, snow and ice. Rocker Panel wash includes two HP nozzles with rotating tips. SMS telephone connection: to be used with the autodiagnosis system, in case the machine stops it immediately sends the manager an SMS. This way you can know in real time and wherever you are, if the equipment is having problems and therefore you can promptly intervene.

The main optionals
