5th semester

This project was an urban renewal project on a site in Nørresundby. In a new urban area by the harbor, a building for a public branch of the North Jutland Region and some medical prac-tices was to be placed.

After interviewing the target group, a number of functional concepts was developed. This led to a sketching and modelling proces, where technical, functional and aestethic aspects went into higher unity.

The final design consists of two linear organized build-ings, which are connected on 3rd floor by the canteen and by the open foyer by the entrance at ground level to the north. My own main contribution consists of the garden plan for the grounds surrounding the building. Here a large, rectangular tiling with hard surface tiles and tiles of vegetation, trees and mirror-pools. It gives a firmly programmed area that is open to use.

KILEN

In the bachelor project we worked with the transformation of an former industrial site on the former industrial harbour in former industry town Aalborg. The concept was to create something to attach to the Corridor of Growth in the Municipalty of Aalborg. A

leisure space for citizens and a cultural catalyst. By drawing bands of defined program in the spirit of OMA in Melun-Senart, we tried to give a patern for the design. Through model studies and constant exchange between design, analysis and the vision of a community central with library, shopping, business, housing and large, programmed outdoor spaces the form was developed.

3rd semester

The third semester main project concerned the design of a lamp or some sort of light source for the Utzon Center at the harbour front of Aalborg. We chose the auditorium. We then made several workshops where models was built and tested.

The final design was built in the Rhino 3D plugin Grasshopper, where we took some simple forms multiplied them, varied them, connected them and manipulated into a lamp that would imitate a cloud with its soft, diffuse light.

This design project was focused on wood in construction, form and tactility. The emphasis was on ergo-nomics and a clear idea.

My first project was a sketch project for conversion of an urban square in the center for Aalborg. My proposal was a large, wavy concrete sur-face to cover an underlying parking lot and with a large surface on top, open for programming.

i amI am a student at the 6th semester, 24 years old and lives in a dorm in Aalborg. I play piano, which I have always done. I am scout and active in the work nationwide and have been sent to Mongolia as a scout volunteer. I have friends in most of the country and travels regularly across the coun-try. Friends and family mean a lot to me, but I appreciate to deliver a good job whether it’s in the studio, at home, as a scout or at a planning meeting of a scout camp.

My studies so far has been somewhat patchy. Below is the 3rd semes-ter project, I did when I went to the Surveyor school, together with three reports, I made the layout on in my spare time job as a layouter at the university.

SOFTWARE SKILLSSoftware I have used through the time. Some I use all the time and some I have only been using briefly:

• Adobe CS5: Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator: Used all the time to layout reports, edit and collage pictures and for digital drawing.

• Skechup: Used for sketching and some ren-dering. The 4th semester main project renders was made using SU 8 with the Podium ren-derer.

• AutoCAD: Used to handle CAD-drawings and maps to prepare for export to Illustrator or the like.

• Rhino: Used to prepare designs to laser cut.• Rhino 3D w/ Grasshopper: Used some in the

3rd semester lamp project. Pretty intuitive but haven’t used it since.

• ESRI ArcGIS: Used in Surveyor school but not much since.

• MS Office: Pretty familiar with this.• Little html, php, js coding.

• Should of course mention Revit here but I have never used it myself. Looks pretty neat though...
