I really liked how my fi rst spread using inDesign turned out. The software was unfamiliar and took a lot of getting used, but I was able to use past knowledge of eDsign and complete my spread. I wish I had found a way to bring in a more colorful background so there would be less white space. But, I liked the mix of the two fonts and the use of the teal from my dominate photo.

This project was very challenging for my partners and myself. We swicthed between using InDe-sign, Photoshop and Illustrator to cpmplete this proect. The most challening part was cutting out the badge shape, then fi guring out ho to fi ll it in with one color, while maintaing the blue backgroud and black seatbeat. I think it turned out visually appealing.

YEARB KThis was the first project we did this year using Illustator. I struugled with coming up with a logo design-that would represent Plant Yearbook. Using Illustrator was challenging for me beause I had never ued an-thing like it, but I think my logo turned out very well. The paw print shape was the hardest part to create.

I think this is a good action shot that I took becuse it fully expresses the players emotions while playing. I used photoshop to enhance the colors and blurr out the players on the bench, so the main three people would be spotighted.

I photoshopped this picture because I felt that it wouldnt be too hard to blur out the sorrounding people to create a unque, running effect. I tried something new in phooshop and it didnt turn out as well as I had hoped, but I still believe that it looks creative and would pull eyes to it a yearbook.

This was my first ohotshop piture ever, and I think it turne out fairy well. I decided to create everything and everyone besides the Plant player that was spotlighted, black and white, to emphasize her. I wish I had also blurred out the background, to enhance the player even more.

The referee blows the whistle, ending the first half of the first game of the season. The crowd cheered as the Plant and Academy of the Holy Names girls’ soccer teams jog off the blazing hot astro-turf, returning to their benches after a tough first half, ending in a 1-1 tie. The group of senior captains huddled the team up, giving the girls a pep talk to encourage the players for the preceding half. “I try and keep a positive attitude throughout the game and encourage the players as much as I can,” said one of the captains, Emma Haney. Head Coach Pam Smith reviewed the first half with the team, and then Assistant Coach Shea Vosler, new to the program this year, pumps the girls up to find victory in the rest of the game. Second half starts when Plant rolls the ball over the line. Forty minutes left. The sun sets, corals and pinks capturing the sky, and the bright lights are clicked on as the night takes over the sky. Plant takes over the game once they’ve scored two more goals, ending in a 3-1 victory. Unwinding after the game, the fresh-man reflected on their first game as members of the Plant girl’s team. “Playing, especially as a freshman was really fun and exciting. At first I was really nervous, but I’m excited because I think the team will be very good this season,” said freshman Allison Hernandez.

I did not take ths photo, but I did photoshop it. I wante to bring out the gold in her cross country unifrom, and by creating a black and white background, I was able to do so.

I didn’t think that I did did well on this piece of copy. I believe that I should have continued to be descriptive throughtout the entire copy, not just at the beginning, and it would be more intrguing for the reader. Also, I should have asked for quotes from those who scored, which would have been more interesting.

The girls of the Anchor Service Club are busy preparing for the upcoming year, already participating in community service events. Anchor participates in community events all throughout theTampa area, giving back to their community. On September 27th, they participated in the Dance For Haiti, a fundraiser for the organization, Teens For Haiti. Teens For Haiti I an organization founded by a 2014 Plant High School grad-uate, and consists of teenagers that are willing to volunteer and dedicate their time to improving the lives of those in St.Suzanne, Haiti. The Dance Marathon raises $21,000 for the organization. The participants were confined into an auditorium at Academy of the Holy Names for 13.1 hours where they were restricted from sitting. They always had to keep moving whether is be dancing, playing corn toss, getting their faces painted, jumping onto a Velcro wall or listening to performances by the band Parrotfish and American Idol contestant, Shannon Magrane. “I had a great time at the event. I loved jumping onto the velcro wall and listening to all the music, but I felt accomplished that I could help contribute to improving the lives of those in Haiti,” said sophomore Courtney Jones. Anchor girls participated in the event along with students from a variety of school all over the Tampa Bay area. The girls of this service club are thrilled to begin their year of service. “Im looking forward to some of the service projects that we did last year that were doing again, like the Breast Cancer Walk,” said Junior Isabelle Everett.

I believe that this was the best copy I wrote all year. It was very desciptive, and followed AP style more than any other. It was also put into the yearbook, which I was very proud of. The game was exciting, therefore making it as easy to write about.

This was the first copy i wrote for panther tales. I tried to be descriptive of the event and of the activites. I didn’t know many basic copy rules, so I didnt do things like create new paragraphs for quotes. I learned a lot from this first copy i wrote.
