Intern Architect
I’m currently working in an architect’s office in Brussels. The office has a lot of social housing projects. I’m assigned various tasks like competition entries (design + layout + visualization), architectural drawings and coordination (30 social houses + surroundings) and following a construc-tion site (13 social houses).

Making the scenery for a graduation project. The scenery consists of a CUBE 2x2 meters that turns around its axis. Every side has a different material and meaning in the plot.
Tank is a production of ‘Het Entrepot’ in which the building is handed over to the creative work of young talent, this time curated by Maze.

GRADUATIONPROJECTYear: 2nd Master in Architecture – semester 2 – 2011-2012
Type: urban Architectural Design
Teachers: Jan Maenhout & Roeland Smits
Location: Self chosen site in Ljubljana, Slovenia
Given program: Nodes of infrastructure, green open space and water. The design of a key building in Ljubjana with a public function between 5000 and 20000 square meters.
Working title: Infrastructure as a holder of the public space
Project description: How can we give a relevant lecture of a city who has gone through a long story of history? How do we have to approach the city in the 21st century, which we cannot capture in one ‘image’. Can we in some way create a framework, on the city, for the city. Can we then conceive our research process as a story, were we first read the city in its multiplicity (Reading the city). Some part could show us an interesting story which we then can try to understand (Understanding the city). Only after reading and understanding the city we can try to further write the story an contribute the city (Writing the city).

Teachers: Livia de Bethune & Wim Oers
Location: Kuregem, Brussels
Given program: Development of contemporary strategies along the Brussels canal. This inside the neighborhood Kuregem has a lot of social diversities and complexity.
Working title: The space between the limits
Project description: The neighborhood Kuregem has a lot of social diversity with a big popu-lation of foreign origin. The public space is used as intensively as the private space, whereby different spaces have formal and informal ‘functions’. At some moments these space are at their limit, were at some moments there are desolate. Can we design and offer these spaces a new ‘in between’ form, were there is a more constant qualitative, formal and informal, use.
