This publication of the National Government aims to display information from third
parties on the exploratory results of advanced projects and the mining geological
potential of the country. The information is obtained through diverse sources, mainly
from public access portals of the operating / controlling companies and from
technical reports published by them on various web pages under international
standards aimed at guaranteeing a greater degree of reliability.
In some cases the data is estimated. The accuracy or reliability of the same are not the
responsibility of the MINING POLICY SECRETARIAT.
For more information on the legal, social and / or environmental status of the
projects, interested parties should consult the corresponding provincial authorities
since the mines are private assets of the Nation or of the Provinces, depending on the

Status classification criteria for mining projects
PROSPECTION: Also called regional exploration, it is the set of works carried out on large-scale surfaces (2,500 to 250,000 km2), which lead to the detection and location of anomalies and
favorable sites for mineralization and the location of possible deposits with potential for Next step, which is the study of these targets and is called exploration.
INITIAL EXPLORATION: Stage intended to capture and analyze information of the body (s) that eventually constitute a site. For the development of this phase, a set of works are executed
(direct and indirect methods), such as geophysics, geochemical sampling, laboratory analysis, geostatistical analysis, among others. At this stage the data or sampling density is not yet sufficient
for an estimate of resources.
ADVANCED EXPLORATION: Evaluation or delineation phase, the objective is to make a first estimate of the mineral resource (characterized by a tonnage and a law), existing in the mineralized
body. It is tried to size the possible deposit in technical form by means of direct and indirect methods (perforation, geophysics, geochemistry, calicatas, trenches, geological modeling,
geostatistical analysis). This stage is the basis for starting the previous economic evaluation (PEA) of the reservoir, based on the analysis of the geological information collected.
PRELIMINARY ECONOMIC ASSESSMENT (PEA): It is a preliminary study, which includes an economic analysis of the “potential” viability of mineral resources. It covers the study of the scope
of the project (scoping). The EAP may be based on measured, indicated or inferred mineral resources, or a combination of any of these.
PRE-FEASIBILITY (PFS = PREFEASIBILITY STUDY): Includes basic conceptual engineering; It includes a financial analysis based on reasonable assumptions about mining, processing,
metallurgical, economic, commercial, legal, environmental, social and governmental considerations and the evaluation of any other relevant factor that is sufficient for a Qualified Person, acting
reasonably, to determine if all or part of the Mineral Resource can be classified as a Mineral Reserve.
FEASIBILITY (DFS = DEFINITIVE FEASIBILITY STUDY): It must include Detail Engineering and consists of a detailed study of how the mine will be built, used as the basis for a production
decision. A feasibility study is a complete technical and economic study of the development option selected for a mineral project that includes appropriately detailed evaluations of the applicable
Modifying Factors along with other relevant operational factors and detailed financial analysis that are necessary to demonstrate that the extraction is reasonably justified (economically
exploitable). The results of the study can reasonably serve as the basis for a final decision by a proponent or financial institution to continue or finance the development of the project. (Bankable
Project).
CONSTRUCTION AND COMMISSIONING: Creation of infrastructure works, preparation of the deposit, construction of the necessary facilities for the exploitation of the deposit (extraction,
treatment and transport of minerals); installation and conditioning of equipment and purchase of supplies.
OPERATION / PRODUCTION: It is the operational state of an active Mine. The exploitation phases (open or underground mining or brine extraction) and benefit (separation of the mineral of
interest from others that have no economic value) are usually integrated in the same project.
REENGINEERING : (not always present) It is a redesign of the project or mine that is carried out based on changes in mining, technological, market, legal, social, environmental or any other
factor or condition that modifies the parameters that give viability to mining development.
EXTEPANSION: It is the stage of a mine in operation in which, depending on favorable factors (improvements in market or business conditions, availability of capital or by prior planning)
changes are made in the mining and profit processes with the in order to increase the installed capacity of the mine.
CARE & MAINTENANCE: These are operations that have paralyzed the activities and are reevaluating their continuity. CLOSURE: Stage marked by cessation in the production processes
caused by depletion of the mineral reserve, although it can also be generated by other factors that prevent the normal productive development of the mine (unfavorable market, social, legal, etc.).
Some tasks that are done at the closure of the mine begin when it is still in operation and continue until the restored areas can remain stable over time without the need for human action. The
post closure includes the effluent and emission treatment, social monitoring and maintenance activities that must be carried out after the completion of the rehabilitation actions. This activity is
extended until the physicochemical stability of the effects generated by mining is demonstrated and the social sustainability of the communities has been achieved.
Inactive Site: It has a history of past production and is currently without production.

Project StageIt is the stage of recognition of mineralization in the field. Common activities include:satellite and aerial imaging studies, aerial and field geological, geochemical andgeophysical prospecting, determination of target drilling areas. Early explorationprojects are the most risky projects in mining activity.
Advanced exploration projects have clearly defined mineral resources withreasonable prospects for developing mining operations (ranging from thedefinition of Inferred Resources to Proved Reserves).
It is that exploration that is carried out in deposits near or adjacent to amine that is already operating. The main objective is to expand theinventory of resources to achieve the optimization of mining operations byincreasing their useful life. The risk in this type of exploration is considerablylower than in the previous ones due to two main factors:1- It has basic geological information and is done in proven mineralizedareas2-The facilities to extract and process the ore have already been built andamortized, the additional cost of capital to process the new ore found isvery low.

Resources and Reserves - DefinitionsCRIRSCO
In order to talk about reservations we need to include modifying factors.
Environmental, social, governmental permits and tighter economic issues
are considered. Both indicated and measured resources can be used to be
evaluated.
PROBABLE RESERVATIONS: It is the economically exploitable part of an
Indicated Mineral Resource and in some circumstances Measured Mineral
Resource. Includes dilution materials and tolerances for losses that may
occur when the material is exploited. Appropriate assessments have been
carried out, which may include feasibility studies, and include the
consideration of reasonably assumed modifying factors in mining,
metallurgical, economic, marketing, legal, environmental, social and
governmental. These evaluations show as of the date the report is
submitted that the extraction could be reasonably justified.
PROVEN RESERVES: It is the economically exploitable part of a Measured
Mineral Resource. The rest is the same as in the previous case. FOR YOUR
CALCULATION ONLY THE MEASURED RESOURCES ARE USED. THE
PROVENED RESERVATIONS WILL BE THOSE THAT WERE QUANTIFIED
(MEASURED RESOURCES), AND THAT ARE IN CONDITIONS OF BEING
REMOVABLE WITHOUT SOCIAL, LEGAL, ENVIRONMENTAL,
GOVERNMENTAL, GOVERNMENTAL IMPEDIMENT.
INFERED RESOURCES: They are evaluated based on purely geological studies,
local mapping, analysis of perforation samples, hand samples, indirect studies
such as geophysics, magnetometry etc ... IT IS INFECTED ACCORDING TO
THESE RESULTS A MINERALIZED BODY, BUT DUE TO DENSITY OF
INFORMATION AND TYPE OF DEPOSIT, YOU CANNOT ASSURE THE SPACE
CONTINUITY OF MINERALIZATION OR THE DISTRIBUTION OF LAWS.
INDICATED RESOURCES: We go from inferred to indicated, increasing the
density of information (perforations closer to each other, spaces are covered
and ensuring the continuity of mineralized bodies). Here tonnage, density,
shape, physical characteristics, grade and mineral content can be estimated
with a reasonable level of confidence. The locations are too spaced or their
spacing is inappropriate to confirm geological and / or law continuity, but it is
spaced close enough so that continuity can be assumed
MEASURED RESOURCES: We go from Resources indicated to Measured with a
density of information that allows us to make a modeling of the reasonably
true mineralized bodies (the surveys are spaced with sufficient proximity to
confirm geological and / or law continuity).
CRIRSCO - 2011 Standard Definitions
IDENTIFIED RESOURCES: contemplates all the estimated resources for a
project. (Measured Resources + Indicated + Inferred)

This national government publication aims to show information about the exploratory results of the most advanced projects and the geological mining potential of the country. The information is obtained through various sources, mainly from the public access portals of the operating / controlling companies and from technical reports published by them on various pages that require international standards to guarantee a greater
degree of reliability. In some cases the data are marked as estimates (e) because an approximation of them has been made. The accuracy or reliability of the data is not the responsibility of the Ministry of Mining Policy. For more information on the legal, social and / or environmental status of the projects, interested parties should consult the corresponding provincial authorities. The bases for prospective, exploratory and
extractive mining activities are established in the National Mining Code (CNM), its law 1919- and its amendments law 24.224 / 1993, law 24498/1995, law 24585/1995 and law 27111/2015. According to the Mining Legislation and the Mining Code of Argentina, about the Domain of the mines (Article 7 to 12), these are private goods of the Nation or of the Provinces, according to the territory in which they are. There are provincial
procedures and laws that establish the terms and specifications required for each provincial state in regard to mining activity. In general terms, every application or permit has a legal basis, and a procedure established by the competent provincial authority. As a Federal country, each province has its legal framework to grant the permits required for the development of mining activity in all its stages. In Argentina, some provinces
have particular regulations and prohibitions regarding such activity whose knowledge is a civil responsibility. The Ministry of Mining Policy is not responsible for the use of this information for other purposes.
