The INTERNATIONAL award went to Tex Tile Enterprise Co. with its all-inclusive offer of vibrant & plain colours and its fabrics’ functionalities that are very much appreciated by the international brands.

The ceremony was attended by VIP visitors and exhibitors and set a positive atmosphere to the opening of the 2-day trade show.

The number of industry visitors is stable with last year, reaching 7300 visitors from 53 countries.

The in-depth Asia study held by Eurovet in collaboration with Ubifrance and The French Lingerie and Knitwear Federation, had shown the growth and potential of South East Asian countries as well as the current development of South Asia as important regions for the intimates and beach-wear sectors.

The visitors’ rates from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and The Philippines saw a growth of 40% in comparison to last year, confirming the results of the Asian study. Buyers from those regions were prominently present during the show.

India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have been showing growing interest for several years with a rising number of 35% again this year.

The top visiting countries outside Mainland China are : Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, United States, Thailand, France, Sri Lanka, Russia, United Kingdom, India, Brazil, Italy, Australia, Indonesia and Colombia.

Some European countries showed a positive movement following a couple of years of regress due to the market situation in Europe. This year the show received more visitors from France, Spain and The Netherlands.

The importance of South America has been a focus for many manufacturers and brands. This is also visible in the visitor figures with a raise of 11%. The countries represented were Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Honduras and Peru. Colombia showed the biggest increase this edition.

Certain geographical regions and countries such as Hong Kong, Thailand and Russia saw a decrease due to political tensions but in the overall there is a positive trend.

The largest part of the visitors are coming from Mainland China, representing 76% of the total visitors. This counts for an increase of 5% in comparison to 2013.

The quality of visitors also improves year on year with key positions CEO, managing directors, heads of design and buyers.

28 regions were represented at the show. The top 5 provinces:1. Guangdong 2. Shanghai 3. Zhejiang 4. Jiangsu 5. Fujian

Within the top regions we saw a tremendous growth in Guangdong with +9%, Shanghai +10%, Jiangsu +18% and Fujian +4%. Zhejiang took a step backwards with a drop of -12%.

The overall feedback received from exhibitors has been positive highlighting the business driven atmosphere.

This edition the heart of the show could be found in 2 areas, the general intimates focused trend forum as well as the new beach forum.

The trend forum ‘MOVEMENTS’ focused on the intimates sector showcasing the latest fabrics and materials of the exhibitors. The trend forum showcased the Spring/Summer 2016 key trends. The ‘HOUSE OF LOVE’ project created by the talented lingerie designer Ying Fei Wang decorated the trend forum. The miniature rooms of a house illustrated the motivations and emotions of modern, young Chinese women. The themes were ‘ Pretty in my kitchen’, ‘Welcome to my garden’ and ‘baby room’.

The new initiative of Concepts Paris called Beach-o-logy has brought a new forum to Interfiliere Shanghai. The forum focused exclusively on beach fabrics and materials. This new forum exemplifies the growing swim sector in China and Asia. The buyers and designers showed a lot of interest in the new forum.

For this new venture a collaboration took place with Paola Maltese who during the show also did a presentation on the current and future trends. Sea creatures designed and created by exhibitors decorated the setting. Following the show the creatures were donated to the baby room of a children’s hospital in Shanghai. Eurovet saw a great support from the exhibitors to be part of such a unique project.

Having been the leading trade show organiser for intimates and swimwear in Asia for the last 10 years puts Eurovet in the position to serve industry professionals with the needed market knowledge and information. The in-depth study took place in 13 Asian countries. During Interfiliere Shanghai and Shanghai Mode Lingerie the results were released to the visitors via 5 dedicated seminars. The very informative seminars will also take place at other Eurovet shows around the world. The surveys and research is for sale via the Eurovet offices.

Besides the Asia study seminars, the shows brought a full schedule of trend seminars and industry business focused presentations from Concepts Paris, Carlin, Hyosung, Tengfei as well as the Hong Kong Intimate Apparel Industries’ Association.

New this edition was the 2 training workshops; one was focused more on the trends whilst the other one focused more on teambuilding. The speakers, Edith Keller and Cecile Vivier, said the first edition was a great success with 27 participants from Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy and United Kingdom. The feedback received was positive highlighting the efficiency of the training programs because of its practical approach and group work. Having multi-cultural professionals working together also gave an extra dimension to the workshop as it gave the participants a chance to see and understand different approaches as well as perspectives.

The 3 ‘Intimate Extravaganza’ fashion showcases on October 20 were a success attracting a lot of media attention. The latest collection pieces of Lise Charmel, Chantelle, Ghiro, G-Gear, Classico Belleza, Yalanka, Yes Code, Toot, Livia Meldolesi and Madame Aime took center stage within a colourful circus theme.

Some exclusive vintage pieces from ‘Nuit de Satin’ were also showcased on the catwalk as the final.

The ‘Lycra© Moves Lingerie Treasures’ exhibition at the heart of Shanghai Mode Lingerie counted 60 unique vintage pieces of lingerie and corsetry giving the visitors the opportunity to learn more about the history. This display of ‘Nuit de Satin’ sponsored by Invista received a lot of attention from Asian visitors and exhibitors.

The new ‘business lounge’ format of Shanghai Mode Lingerie which was launched in 2013, was again a success. With approximately 100 business meetings set up for the 9 international lingerie and swimwear brands.

The 10 highlights made an all-round celebratory 10th edition of Interfiliere Shanghai and Shanghai Mode Lingerie.
