Poster Analysis

We chose this poster because the image is very creepy and is surrounded by black which makes the white lettering stand out and also gives the illusion that something will be in the dark. The tagline also adds a sinister atmosphere to the poster as it plays on the mind and the quote “they’re here” does a similar thing because the audience doesn’t know who “they” are.

Number 2.Our second choice was The Blair Witch Project because of the negative effect on the poster and the smoke effect. It makes it very ghostly. The black and white is effective because the white trees like abnormal and it looks as if there could be things in between the trees. Also the simplicity of the poster adds to the abnormality of the poster and the tagline of the poster explains the film without giving away the ending which is good for the audience who don’t want to know the ending.

Number 3.This is our final choice. We chose it because of the disturbing image at the bottom. We thought that the background was also effective because of the mix of dark and light colours that make it quite creepy. The use of make up in the face gives quite a strange look to the poster, and the blood and dirt on the hands gives the illusion that whatever the image is of, is a disgusting creature. The large eyes however have an element of sadness which almost makes the audience feel sorry for whatever it is.
