First Baptist Church, Rich-mond, WRVA guest place ofworship for September, fromits founding in 1780, has occu-pied a distinct position in thisarea and throughout its denomi-nation. After making enviablehistory at its venerable locationat 12th and Broad Streets, thecongregation in 1928 moved toits imposing new home at Mon-ument Avenue and the Boule-vard, occupying a large blockand constituting one of Rich-mond's most beautiful points ofinterest. Here a daily programof worship, education, recrea-tion and social work is in prog-ress. In the worshipful air-conditioned sanctuary Vir-ginia's largest Baptist member-ship of 3,500 worships, while aSunday School of 2,700 occupies modern facilities.
