The Statesman Capitol 10,000 is celebrating the 40th running of the race on Sunday, April 23, 2017and expects to host more than 22,000 participants. The Statesman Cap10K is the largest 10K inTexas and the 7th largest in the U.S *.
The race explores the state’s charming capital city, starting in downtown Austin on the CongressAvenue Bridge, running past the state capitol building and finishing at Vic Mathias Shores.

One dollar from each registration will go to Austin Parks Foundation, the 2017 Statesman Cap10K beneficiary. The Austin American-Statesman will donate up to $10,000 in additional participant donations.
The Austin Parks Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people in Austin by addressing the city’s funding and resource gap in order to develop, maintain and enhance the area’s parks, trails and green spaces. From volunteer workdays and park activation programming to large capital improvement projects, APF has been at the center of promoting park development, maintenance, accessibility and improvements in Austin and Travis County.
