SPORTSMANSHIP Sportsmanship is defined as ethical, appropriate, polite and fair behavior while participating in a game or athletic event. 

OWNERS AND COACHES • It is very important for owner and coaches to represent their teams as well

as they possibly can. • Bill Belichick is in my opinion a great coach his team (New England Patriots)

has incredible stats and he even handled the deflate gate incident with grace and composure.

• Jimmy Haslam (Cleveland Browns) is one of the worst team owners. – Browns are 19-45 since he has owned them– Hired and fired coach in 1 year– Company committed fraud

HEALTH AND SAFETY

• Health and safety are very important aspects in sports. Without them athletes would be injured constantly. Making sure you are healthy and in shape is very important. If you let yourself go there could be serious consequences. Without it you could lose your job in the blink of an eye.

ATHLETES AND COMMUNITY

• It is very important for athletes to act as role models. Kids and even adults look up to athletes. Their jobs are more than just playing a game. Off of the field athletes represent themselves, their teams, family friends and even fans that’s why they must be on their best behavior.

FAN BEHAVIOR

• I believe that it is not only the players jobs to represent their teams but it is also the fans jobs. Nobody should get so riled up that they have to fight other people during a game. That just makes the team look bad.

SPORTSMANSHIP IN THE FUTURE• Its very important to have good sportsmanship. Without sportsmanship

sports would be non existent. Think about all of the fights that people get it during and after games. Imagine what it would be like if there were absolutely no rules. Imagine playing a game where nobody respected each other. As technology advances I think sportsmanship will get better. Nobody wants the world seeing that they have no sportsmanship its also easier to see if somebody did something on accident or purposely. Nobody would want to play sports because they would be constantly disrespected. Sportsmanship is the root to the sports world.
