Powhatan
Erica Warren
These are examples of the community layout of the Powhatans. They lived on water sources that were on high ground, which made it easy to find food sources and transportation
Daily Activities: This is a watercolor image of an Algonquian dance activity that the English referred to as “powwow”. The second image is of the tools the Powhatan would have used to grind corn.
Tools and Weapons-these are two examples of weapons that the Powhatan would use. The man on the top right is prepared to hunt, and the knife was used by both men and women and was used to hunt.
Artwork-this is an example of Powhatan artwork. It is an artifact that was found on deerskin mantle.
This image was interesting to me because the Powhatan kept their fire going all year, even in warm weather. This is a picture of Powhatans keeping a fire going outside, which was presumably used for cooking.
