DISCRETIONARY POWER FOR PROPORTIONS.

FUNCTIONALITY SHOULD AT NO POINT BE COMPROMISED FOR THE PURPOSE OF ADHEREING TO THE SCALE.

A DESIGN CAN VERY WELL BE HARMONIOUS AND AESTHETCIALLY PLEASING EVEN IF THE ‘MODULOR’ WASN’T CONSULTED WHILE DESIGNING.

A DESIGN CAN ALSO BE A FAILURE EVEN IF THE ‘MODULOR’ IS IMPLEMENTED METICULOUSLY.

SECTOR 17 WAS RESERVED IN THE MASTER PLAN FOR THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT AND CIVIC CENTRE. A UNIFORM FOUR STOREY WAS ESTABLISHED FOR ALL THE BUILDINGS IN THE SECTOR WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ‘11STOREY OFFICE BUILDING’, TO BE DESIGNED AS THE DOMINANT BUILDING AND FOCAL POINT OF THE MAIN CHOWK. EVERY COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENT IN CHANDIGARH WANTS AN ADDRESS IN SECTOR 17 , AND THUS THERE IS A CRISIS OF OFFICE SPACE IN THE CITY CENTRE, ONCE THE ELEVEN STOREY TOWER IS REALIZED, IT CERTAINLY WILL EASE OUT THE SITUATION, ALONG WITH CREATING MORE REVENUE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION AND EMPLOYMENT FOR THE PEOPLE. THIS BUILDING WAS PURPOSELY KEPT ON THE CROSS JUNCTION OF THE TWO MAIN PEDESTRIAN PIAZZA TO ACT AS FOCAL POINT OF CENTER PLAZA.

TO UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF GOLDEN RATIO AND FIBONACCI SERIES IN ARCHITECTURE; AND PRODUCE A DESIGN AS AN END RESULT TO EXHIBIT THE USE OF FIBONACCI SERIES AND GOLDEN RATIO FOLLOWING THE RESEARCH OF LE CORBUSIER.

THE TOP FIVE FLOORS ARE RESERVED FOR TENANTS WILLING TO TAKE OVER ONE COMPLETE FLOOR. INFORMAL GATHERING INCLUDES SHOWROOMS AND OPEN SPACES. SMALL OFFICES WILL BE PREPLANED. BUILDING MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN LOCATED ON THE MIDDLE FLOOR SO AS TO HAVE EASY APPROACH.

• A GATEWAY HAS BEEN INTRODUCED SO AS TO ALLOW LIGHT AND AIR INTO THE BUIDLING ALONG WITH EXTENDING THE PIAZZA INSIDE.

• THE STAIRS MOVE A LITTLE INWARD DUE TO THE PLAN FORM.

• ANOTHER SERVICE AREA COMPRISING OF TOILETS, ELECTRICAL AND HVAC AREA CAME UP NEAR THE CORE.

• ANCHOR STORES HAVE BEEN PROVIDED ON ONE SIDE AND INDIVIDUAL SHOWROOMS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GATEWAY.

• THE AREA INSIDE IS USABLE AREA ON PROJECTED FLOORS AND; BALCONIES ON THE RECESSED FLOORS.

• THE TYPICAL SECTION SHOWS THIS PROJECTED AND RECESSED DETAIL.
