Practical Aspects of Collating the Cluster Growth Profile
11th September 2012
We love stats!
What is a CGP?“An important capacity of the institutions in promoting the two essential movements is the ability to interpret the “pyramid” of human resources, that is to look at the development of human resources and the consequent level of activity in the cluster and determine what needs to be done next.”
(International Teaching Centre to all Continental Counsellors, 28th Nov 2004)
“A careful review of vital statistics, which highlight weaknesses that require remedial attention and point to strengths that can be built upon in the next cycle of activity, will go far in facilitating the planning process.”
(Written on behalf of the Universal House of Justice to one of the European National Assemblies in August 2005)
0 Tool to help agencies with understanding reality of the cluster0 A snapshot of current numbers at the end of each cycle0 Created using data stored in SRP/SRP-I and the ATCs own records
Table 1
What data does this table display? This table is your pyramid of human resources. Each row shows the number of individuals residing in the cluster who have completed the various books in the sequence at the end of the cycle.
Youth and Adults Who Have Completed Courses of the Training Institute
Table 1 Youth and Adults Who Have Completed Courses of the Training Institute
Where does the data come from?SRP-I Summary Report -Pyramid of Human Resources
Table 2
What data does this table display? This is a summary table of your running core activities. Each row shows the number of core activities and participants – total and community of interest – running at the end of the cycle.
Core Activities
Children’s Classes
Junior Youth Groups
Study Circles Devotionals

Where does the data come from?SRP-I Summary Reports -Children’s Classes, Junior Youth Groups and Study Circles

Core Activities
Table 3 Expansion during Cycles of Activities
What data does this table display?Number of friends actively participating in expansion activities during the expansion phase, both individual and collective teaching plans.
Table 3 Expansion during Cycles of Activities
What data does this table display?Enrolments during the last cycle & their participation in the institute process.Note: Last column is a measure of the number of newly enrolled believers participating in the institute process. It is not a measure of the new participants in the institute process.

Where does the data come from?ATC (STC) records
Table 4 Bahá’í Population
What data does this table display?A straight-forward snapshot of the number of Bahá’ís residing in the cluster at the end of the cycle.
Table 4 Bahá’í Population
Where does the data come from?SRP Area Report 2
Table 5 Community Development
What data does this table display?Number of regular home visits taking place with the focus of deepening on an aspect of the Faith (can be with Bahá’ís or community of interest)Number of and participants in 19 Day Feast & Holy Days (Bahá’ís and community of interest)
Table 5 Community Development
Where does the data come from?SRP Area Report 5 & ATC (STC) Records
Note: SRP will only hold max 1 activity per community

Comments Section
What is this section used for?Qualitative information helpful for understanding the numbers shown in the CGP for that cycle.Any teaching/consolidating activities which are not captured on in tables 1-5 can be mentioned here.
Comments Table 1
Participants in process of moving through the sequence
What data does this table display?Breakdown of study circles currently running. Totals should match Table 2.Helpful to analyse the pace at which participants are moving through the sequence.

Using the CGP for Analysis
0 Framework for Analysis questions0 Presentation by European Resource Person for
Statistics0 Cycles of experience0 The more accurate the data going in is, the more
useful the data for analysis – the more it will reflect reality
