Good News From Mexico

Othoniel Gutierrez, our mission partner

in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico reports that

Federico Garcia, one of the men converted

in the prison ministry there, has been

released from prison and is beginning a

church of Christ in Yepachi, a town in the

Sierra Madre mountains about 3 ½ hours

from Cuauhtemoc. He currently has a group

of 3 or 4 people meeting in his home.

Othoniel’s response: “We have a

missionary who is a fruit of the prison

ministry!”

He asks for our prayers for this brother

in Christ and his family, that the work and

the church in Yepachi will become a reality.

How Great Is Our God!

Lightning is a mighty force of nature.

A bolt of lightning is no more than an

inch wide, yet it can pack up to one

billion volts of electricity and heat the

air around it up to 50,000 degrees

Fahrenheit. As Psalm 77 proclaims,

lightning has the capacity to light up

the world!

Several years ago, my husband and I were privileged to witness this

marvel firsthand as we were driving after dark in the Texas Panhandle. With

our view unhindered by hills or trees, we had front-row seats to the greatest

natural fireworks show on earth! As the lightning streaked across the eastern

sky, we were left speechless by this awesome manifestation of unbridled

energy.

And to think that our Lord is the source of that staggering power! The

psalmist speaks for all of us – What god is so great as our God? You are the

God who performs miracles; You display Your power among the peoples

(Psalm 77:13-14). Surely a God with such power at His fingertips can

conquer any obstacle or difficulty that might come our way. Trust Him to

take care of whatever seems impossible in your life today.
