Many exciting things have happened since our last update. We praise the Lord for every door of opportunity that He has opened for us. We are praying hard and looking diligently for a meeting place for our Sunday worship services because our specific needs have changed. Since starting a Sunday morning service 3 weeks ago, our numbers have continually increased. The first Sunday we had a Sunday school class for all children ages 12 and under taught by Sandra. It was not hard to see that this arrangement was not suitable, especially for the boys ages 10 to 12. The second Sunday we added a second class for boys of these ages taught by Brother Raymond, our assistant pastor. The girls in the age bracket still need a class of their own as they feel awkward with the small children. At this point we give them the choice of children’s Sunday school or the adult service, and most choose to sit in the adult service. Our youth department is also growing rapidly, so a separate class is soon needed for them as well. We also have some attending that have infants or toddlers who would like to be able to sit in the service without distraction so a nursery is badly needed. Last Sunday our attendance was 41 which I know is not a very big number, but it is for our tiny 3-bedroom house. We are badly in need of more space. Please continue to pray that we can find a suitable place very soon. We are praying for a place with at least three classrooms besides the main meeting area. Also, our hearts’ desire is that the place be in town in a visible place. Many of the people in this city will not regard Central Sagada Baptist Church as a “real” church until we are meeting some place other than in our house. Radio Ministry The Lord has given me a great opportunity to have a radio ministry. The local radio station, Radyo Sagada 104.7 FM, has allowed us to have a one hour slot every Sunday from 7 to 8 am. We call it Truth for Today Radio Ministry. The radio reaches all of Mountain Province as well as the surrounding provinces in the Northern Luzon area. We praise the Lord that as a result we had a young lady respond asking about salvation. This is a great opportunity for us to reach the remote areas surrounding Sagada. There are many who live in these remote areas with no gospel preaching churches. It is our desire that many of them would accept Christ and come to church. of 1 2 MALAZO FAMILY REACHING MOUNTAIN PROVINCE, PHILIPPINES

We are

praying for a place with at least three classrooms besides the main meeting area. Also, our hearts’ desire is that the place be in town in a visible place. Many of the people in this city will not regard Central Sagada Baptist Church as a “real” church until we are meeting some place other than in our house.

Radio MinistryThe Lord has given me a great opportunity to have a radio ministry. Neighbourhood Children’s Bible Club One of the greatest burdens we have is to reach the young generation in Sagada. We have prayed and asked the Lord for opportunities to reach the children of Sagada. The Lord opened a door for us as one of the ladies that attends our church invited us to her neighbourhood to conduct a Bible club. Since starting two weeks ago many have attended and some have attended Sunday school as a result of the Bible club. Please pray that we will see many trust Christ as Saviour. We are finding that these children have no Bible knowledge at all, obviously never having heard a clear presentation of the gospel.

Home Bible Studies We are continuing the Monday night Bible studies in our home, but the Lord has also opened another place for us to conduct Bible studies on Saturday evenings. It is in the home of an elderly Anglican lady who is considered an elder leader in the community. In their native culture, being an elder is a prominent and respected position. Agnes is highly respected in the community as she directs people in the proper conduct of the myriad of native spiritistic rituals. Agnes is allowing us to conduct Bible studies in her home because she said, in her own words, “I have been an Anglican since birth, but I still do not understand the Bible…will you please tell me about the Bible?” We have had two Bible studies at her home already, and the Lord is working in hearts. Agnes invited her

neighbours to attend and in our last meeting we had 9 attenders. Please pray for Agnes’ salvation. I believe her salvation would be a great testimony to others in the community.

Yesterday my wife and I met with two young ladies that received a gospel tract from our church. Annie and Marie Rose are cousins living and studying in this area. Their hometown is about 1.5 hours from Sagada. I received a text message from Annie asking about salvation. Both of the ladies are from a Roman Catholic background. We met with them and for about an hour talked about salvation. We praise the Lord that both Annie and Marie Rose accepted Christ as Saviour. Please pray for their spiritual growth.

We are so blessed to be serving in our mission field. Thank you for your faithful support and prayer. It is our prayer that God will allow us more opportunities to reach more souls for Christ.
