7T H SUNDAY A FTER PENTECOST

Baptism Preparation Class Welcome to the Family

We are back from our mission trip to Charleston! What an adven-ture! We dodged heavy rainfall and flooding to serve the people of Charleston and explore the city. We are grateful to have been kept safe and we keep those who are suffering due to flooding lifted in prayer. Our YouthWorks Team kept us busy and uplifted throughout our stay in Charleston. We lift them up as they go on to host more ser-vants throughout the summer. We are grateful for the support of our congregation, which makes these amazing experiences possible. I'm already planning next year's mission experience. Join us!

Your Charleston Team: Mrs. D., Jacin Suskin, Steve Cottle, Lea Webb, Logan Webb, Ross Bowen, Shaelyn Kerns, Adrienne Patterson, Ethan Myers, Jonathan Suskin, Jathan Persson, Madelyn Mudd, Emma Key, Jason Key, Lucas Kube’, Mary Buckler and Brandon Burgiss

ADULT EDUCATION ON SUNDAYS. Our adult class, The American Heritage, is on vacation this weekend--there's NO class on Sunday, July 3. We WILL resume on July 10 in room 24- at 9:20 AM. That class will continue the topic of The Faith of our Founding Fathers, of whom there were about 250.

Even if you haven't joined us before, come join us! There's no book to buy, no homework and each class explores some new issues of historical faith. We've been running between 24 and 27 each Sunday so it's a good group--ready to share, ask questions and express wonder about our nation's early heroes and our early documents. Grab a cup of coffee in the fellowship hall and come and join us!

Pastor Dave will be leading a presentation on preparation for baptism on Sunday, July 24 from 9:15 - 10:30. We are planning to meet in room 246, if this changes, I will update the new location. This is a great opportunity for anyone anticipating a baptism in the next several months. Lutheran baptism theology and practices will be discussed as well as practical matters such as choosing godparents. This is also a great opportunity to connect with others going through the same process. Please reply to [email protected] if you plan to attend so we can have materials ready.

The Board of Social Ministry is looking for volunteers to join us at Brown Bag Ministry (BBM) to help pack over 1,400 brown bag lunches for the homeless in the Triangle region. This is a great opportunity for volunteers of all ages and families to serve together. The project lasts from 9:30 am-11:30 am and is held at: St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church 3008 Old Raleigh Road Apex, NC 27502

Volunteers are also asked to consider bringing any of the following items, which will be given to those in need in the Raleigh area: Diapers (all sizes); diaper wipes; and new or gently used baby and toddler clothing, blankets, and furniture.

There will also be an opportunity afterwards for those who wish to go to downtown Raleigh to serve lunch to homeless near Moore Square. BBM leaders will be at St. Andrew and will provide more information on this to those who wish to participate. For more information you can contact BBM directly at (844) 538-4673 or visit http://www.brownbagministry.org. Celebrate Christmas in July and Help Local Charities!
