INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/BACKGROUND INFORMATION

1.1 IDENTIFICATION OF THE PROJECT AND PROJECT PROPONENT

This is a project of Black Trap.

The project is located at Survey No: 52 K PAIKI On Mahi River, Vill: Udalpur, Tal:

Savli, Dist: Vadodara - 393105,Gujrat .

Category of project – B

Sr. No. In the schedule – 1(a)

The existing Lease area – 00-52-64hactare

The applicant Mr. Arjunbhai kesavbhai odera is a proprietor of this Black Trap

project.

1.2 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF NATURE OF PROJECT.

Black Trap mining is a practice that is used to extract Black Trap, mainly through

an open pit. However, Black Trap is also mined from beaches, inland dunes and

dredged from ocean beds and river beds. This Black Trap is being done at Mahi

River. It is often used in manufacturing as an abrasive, for example, and it is used to make concrete. As communities grow, construction requires less wood and

more concrete, leading to a demand for low-cost Black Trap. Black Trap is also

used to replace eroded coastline.

Another reason for Black Trap is for the extraction of minerals such as rutile,

ilmenite and zircon, which contain the industrially useful elements titanium and zirconium. These minerals typically occur combined with ordinary Black Trap,

which is dug up, the valuable minerals being separated in water by virtue of their

different densities, and the remaining ordinary Black Trap re-deposited.

1.3 NEED FOR THE PROJECT AND IMPORTANCE TO THE COUNTRY

The Mining project falls in the area of the Vadodara district, Guajrat. As industrial

growth and infrastructure growth is going on day by day in Gujarat, there is huge requirement of Black Trap that plays a very crucial role in any developing

countries as it is major ingredient in constrution work and various other industies.

1.4 DEMAND AND SUPPLY GAP

As infrastructure growth is on peak in Gujarat, there is a huge demand of Black

Trap as a raw material in costruction works. There is a marginal gap between

demand and supply.

1.5 EXPORT POSSIBILITY

Total Black Trap extract from the mining will be sale out in domestic market only.

No export is proposed.

1.6 DOMESTIC/EXPORT MARKET

Total BLACK TRAP extract from the mining will be sale out in domestic & nearby

market as per the requirement.

1.7 EMPLOYEMENT GENERATION (DIRECT & INDIRECT) DUE TO THE PROJECT.

About 10 staff members including labors directly and approximately 10 persons

will be engaged indirectly in this proposed Black Trap project. Thus total 20 person

will get employment including directly or indirectly. Considering 5 people in a

family, total 20 x 5 = 100 person will be benefited and shall depend on the mining

activities of this mining lease area.

2.5 PROJECT DESCRIPTION WITH PROCESS DETAILS (A SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM/FLOW CHART SHOWING THE PROJECT LAYOUT, COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT ETC. SHOULD BE GIVEN)

Black Trap from River bed will be carried out by Semi-mechanized method. The manufacturing process is attached as per Annexure-5.

2.6 RAW MATERIAL REQUIRED ALONG ESTIMATED QUANTITY, LIKELY SOURCE, AND MARKETING AREA OF FINAL PRODUCTS MODE OF TRANSPORT OF RAW MATERIAL AND FINISHED PRODUCT.

This is a mining project for mining of Black Trap so no need of raw material. The

final product will be Black Trap which will be transported directly through road to

the local market as per requirement of market.

2.7 RESOURCE OPTIMIZATION/RECYCLING AND REUSE ENVISAGED IN THE PROJECT, IF ANY, SHOULD BE BRIEFLY OUTLINED.

No optimization/recycling and reuse envisaged in the project.

2.8 AVAILABILITY OF WATER ITS SOURCE, ENERGY/POWER REQUIREMENT AND SOURCE SHOULD BE GIVEN.

As this is a Black Trap project over Mahi River. No other industrial water shall be

required. Total domestic water requirement at the mine will be about 1.0 KL/Day

for drinking and others requirements. Water will be brought by water Borewell from

nearby villages. Power is required only for running the machine and diesel is required to run that

machine so diesel will be purchased from the local suppliers. No such power requirement for the project.

2.9 QUANTITY OF WASTE TO BE GENERATED (LIQUID AND SOLID) AND SCHEME FOR THEIR MANAGEMENT/DISPOSAL.

There will be no such waste or hazardous waste generated from Black Trap. Only

rejected materials will be generated. They shall be used for refilling of low lying area

or for paving roads. Waste available are also backfilled and spared all around the

river bank. This shall strengthen the banks of river.
