CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW

Purpose To provide an incentive based program that rewards Heart O’ Texas Fair &

Rodeo Volunteers for their efforts in ensuring a successful event.

How it Works 25 volunteer teams consisting of 12-20 committeemen each selling admission tickets and sponsorships.

Big Money Giveaway The Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to the youth of McLennan County. The Big Money Giveaway is a key component in underwriting these scholarships. This Annual Scholarship Fundraiser will be held on June 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Details are as followed:

CALF SCRAMBLE PACKAGES

 

Each night of the All American ProRodeo Finals, presented by Pendleton Whisky, 20 participants will attempt to catch one of 12 calves. The participant has to catch the calf and get the calf in the designated area in an allotted time period. Those who catch one of the calves can choose between a heifer, lamb or swine project. The animals are raised throughout the year and shown at the next Heart O’ Texas Livestock Show.  

Interesting Facts about the Heart O’ Texas Calf Scramble Program o There are approximately 150 Calf Scramble participants during the seven performances. o Calf Scramble participants range in ages from 13 – 17. o Participants come from counties all over the great State of Texas including, but not limited to:

When is Sneak-A-Peek? o Sneak-A-Peek is Thursday, October 3rd

What is Sneak-A-Peek? o Sneak-A-Peek takes place on the first Thursday night of the Fair. The carnival area and outside vendor

booths are open, there is not a Rodeo. Gate admission is only $3; Carnival rides are only $1 each.

What if I want to customize my package? o Items listed in this catalog are the only items available through the Pre-Sale. If someone would like to

purchase something not listed, volunteers must turn the sale over to the H.O.T. Fair Offices.

How much does the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo give away in scholarships each year? o Over $249,000 is given to livestock show participants and high school graduates from McLennan and

surrounding counties.

When can I pick up my sold packages? o A Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo staff member will contact the volunteer when the package is ready for

pick up.

INCENTIVES FOR SELLERS

Campaign Rewards The Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo will recognize all sellers for their hard work in the Pre-Sale Campaign.

o The biweekly campaign e-newsletter will include current team totals, top sellers and top teams. o Cash awards will be presented at each Campaign Rally. o Every seller and spouse/guest will be invited to the Victory Celebration at the conclusion of the

campaign. o Top sellers may qualify for the Campaign Planning Retreat in the Spring of 2014. o The “Thank You Edition” of the campaign e-newsletter will recognize all teams, team captains and

volunteers. It will feature pictures and results and will be sent to over 500 recipients.

Incentive Program Volunteers have the opportunity to choose between two great Campaign incentive programs – Cash incentives or donation. Cash incentives and donations can be earned throughout the Campaign and are based on cash sales.

Each volunteer will have the option to choose which incentive program they would like to participate in. Please notify Emily Dressen of your choice no later than Thursday, May 30th at 5:00 p.m. If notification is not received by the deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in the cash incentive program.

Option 1: Cash Incentives - will be presented as they are earned at the monthly campaign rallies.

Option 2: Donate to Scholarship Fund – incentives earned throughout the program will be donated to the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo Scholarship Fund on your behalf.

Campaign Planning Retreat Volunteers will also have the opportunity to earn a trip for the Campaign Planning Retreat. Those who qualify will be given the following options:

Option 1: Campaign Planning Retreat - volunteers may qualify for the campaign trip for sales in Category 1 as listed on page 43.

Option 2: Donate to Scholarship Fund - volunteers may donate 60% of the cash value of the planned Campaign Planning Retreat to the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo Scholarship Fund on your behalf.

Division Leaders and Teams Captains Leadership is eligible for incentives, cash or donation, when their team goals are met or if they too meet the requirements for cash sales.
