Intro to Content Management Systems (CMS)Our content management system (CMS) is an easy to use system that allows you change content quickly and easily. You can choose from multiple templates, add your own pictures, and change your text on a regular basis. This easy guide will get you running within minutes.

Logging inOnce you receive your login, go to: www.yourdomain.com/login

or you can also go to www.lawncaredealer.com Enter your username (email address) and password to login

Click “login”





Once you’re logged in, you’ll see the menu bar across the top of the page consisting of 4 tabs:

1. DCMS Home – Takes you to the home page 2. Edit My Pages – Edit the content of your pages 3. File Depository – Allows you to upload files to link to your website (example: upload a PDF of a sale flyer and then type “click here to see our sales flyer” and link to the PDF) 4. Edit Header/Background – Edit the background image, navigation bar color, header text color, navigation text color, fonts, and page layout.





“Edit My Pages” has dropdown menus corresponding to each page on your website with editable areas.

Editing pages is easy1. Select the page you

want to edit.2. Find the section to edit.3. Place your content in

the desired field.4. Click “Commit

Changes” at the bottom of the page.

5. Also, on the right side, you will find useful tips.



Both photo images, and text can be added/changed.

The text input box allows you to format your text however you want it to appear, by using the tool bar across the top. See the Toolbar Guide for more.

Editing Individual Pages



Edit Header/BackgroundIn “Edit Header/Background” you can customize your header, navigation and background for your entire website all at once.

In this example, the Brand Font is Robot, logo position is left, the Navigation Text Color is white, social icons are round and the Brand Theme color is Dark Grey as selected above.



Edit Header/Background

Header Text Color changes the color of what you entered in the “Dealer Name” section of the Website Configuration page. If you choose to upload an image, this will not affect anything.

Navigation Text Color changes the color of the text on the navigation menu.

You can also choose from one of the background options already uploaded for you:

Select Brand Theme Elements You can change the font for your sitewide design, brand color and the shape of your social icons (how you want them to appear on your site).

Select Header Layout changes the position of your logo in the header, navigation position, changes the color of the text on the header area, whether you want rounded nav corners and header background color.

Select Navigation Style Details changes the color of the text on the navigation menu, you can chose linear or other style nav bar and whether you want lighter or darker color.



Toolbar GuideThe text toolbar allows you to format your text however you’d like, including bolding, italicizing, and underline text, aligning it left, right, or center, changing the color and creating links. The toolbar is located directly above the text input box:

Font Size - Controls the size of the font Font Family - Controls the style of the font Font Format - Controls the look of the font, relative to other fonts you are using.

Tips for Best Practices1. The best way to input copy into your website is to first type it up in Notepad.

Notepad is a Microsoft product that comes standard on every computer. It is found on your computer through File > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad Then copy (CTRL+C) and paste into the area on the CMS you’d like the copy to remain (CTRL+V)

2. Keeping your website as personable as possible is advised. You can do this by Including pictures of your building, staff and business history. Use the Home Page to welcome new customers to your website and update your site with events, news, etc.

3. Make sure that the images are the correct size & Optimized for Web when you upload them. In the tan shaded boxes within the CMS, you will see the size requirements listed along with other helpful tips. For More Information on Image Size and Resolution click [MORE INFO]

4. At the bottom of each page, you will see information to enter your “meta description” and meta “keywords”. This is essentially invisible but helps Google to know what is on your page. Feel free to add information about the cities you service, brands you carry (ie, lawnmower service, trimmer service, blade sharpening, etc. We will go through and set it up for a default but please feel free to add to those descriptions if you would like.

Don’t forget: Always click “Commit Changes” at the bottom of the page!



Website Header & Logo“Header & Logo/ Sitewide Configuration” is for making changes the portions of your website that are consistent across all website pages. For example, your logo, address, footer message, and social links. This makes it easy to make changes on multiple pages all in one place.

This changes the header and footer across the entire website.

We have the ability to upload your logo to the header area of your website. If you would like a custom header created for your website. Please email [email protected] and send us your logo.

*Header - Information at the top of each web page. Typically includes the Dealer Name/Logo, Tagline, and Dealer Address

*Footer - Information at the bottom of each web page. Includes a footer message and footer text.

*Social Links - Easy to add social media links to website such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube and more.
