A move to the States saw James pick up a rugby ball onpitch for Colorado Grizzlies HS club. The capably knowledgeable three-‐quarters captained the only Colorado U-‐19 squad ever to win the Rocky Mountain Challenge Championship.
The versatile Eagles back brings his treasure trove of experiential information to the pitch for sessions on consecutive days next week for camp attendees.

Match of the Week
Saracen goes to ground with teammates moving to support image: TONGAWEAR
Aurora Saracens v Denver East High Angels @ SnakePit
With a bit of a chill on early spring's northwind and under overcast skies, Saracens and Angels did battle at the Sarries' SnakePit, the outcome of which would determine head of table at Colorado High School's Division-‐1 buffet.
East enjoyed the majority of possession and were on the front foot often at the opening stages of the match, but Aurora's impressive defensive arrays kept the travelers contained and the numbers zeroes until, with Aurora in possession at their own 22, East 8-‐man Duncan Frost stripped ball and scooted to goal for the grounding that had Angels 5-‐0 in front midway through the first half.
Saracens put together a string of phases in reply and were pounding away in the Denver business district when the hosts own 8-‐man, Filipe Fifita, rolled out of the breakdown two meters from goal and crashed over for the try, then came flyhalf Siale Maka's conversion, and the home team were up 7-‐5 in the 18th minute.
Steady forward progress from mauls and rucks brought East upfield, only to be undone by handling errors, and the powerful Saracens forward pack would bang the action back into East territory in short lunges from the mauls and breakdowns until…

East have won their own scrum; Saracens defense up!
A second touch (down) of Frost was counted when the canny big man quickly-‐tapped a penalty five out from goal and poked through a gap in the defense to ground; flyhalf Jackson Bock stroked the deuce and the Angels were back in front, 12-‐7, as time wound down in the first stanza and referee Rick Goldammer whistled the break. The lads went off for instruction.
East began the second half methodically, pick-‐and-‐goes from the platform and Bock popping wee sneakers over the top into space, alternating with spins out wide and fullback Tahj Willingham's jinky spurts ever threatening. Aurora were pinged for hands-‐in thirty meters out off the right post and Bock was true with the strike for three; 15-‐7 visitors at the three-‐quarter mark in the match.
Aurora on attack
Tenacious countering defense from Sarries, yet the Angels moved slowly forward. East ran a stunt off a wonscrum 25 meters from Aurora's paint that put inside center Peter Schreiber clear for the gallop to goal. With Bock good at the completion, Denver had stretched its lead to 15 markers at 22-‐7 with a bit over ten minutes remaining.
Saracens responded with a prolonged period of attack in East territory, rolling off the mauls in potent two-‐ and three-‐meter junkets that brought the Denver line slowly closer, but East managed turnover at the breakdown just inside their business district and Bock's clearance moved the pill out of danger for the moment.
Aurora won its own lineout inside East's half and picked and banged its way forward until flyer, Cody Holbron cutback stealthy through the business district from along touch and over the goaline for a try which brought the numbers to 22-‐12 with a half dozen left on Goldammer's ticker.
Saracens brought the action straight back to the Angels, but though Denver's defense sagged, it contained and turned ball over for Bock's clearances and at 60' the ref's last blast meant 22-‐12 to East for the record and the head of table in a very physical and highly enjoyable rugby match.
Scoring Saracens – Try: Fifita, Holbron; Con: Maka Angels – Try: Frost (2), Schreiber; Con: Bock (2); Pen: Bock
