TAPES - R P Gallagher presented this survey at the ISPO conference

in Sydney. Gallagher P & MacLachlan M 2000, Gallagher P, Franchignoni F, Giordano A, MacLachlan M 2010

The questionnaire is to be completed by the person with a prosthesis. www.psychoprosthetics.ie [email protected]

Moderate correlation between the Amputation Body Image Scale (ABIS – R) and TAPES psychosocial adjustment subscale. Gallagher P et al 2007

2MWT was a significant predictor of performance of ambulation in the community as measured by the TAPES Activity Restriction subscale. Parker et al 2010

To be used for improvement of our understanding of aspects of prosthesis use to develop better services.

Survey method

Volunteer Amputee Peer Support Visitors (VAPS) conduct the survey to amputees attending Prosthetic Clinic at PKH.

Data entry by Physiotherapist in Amputee Rehab.

Intended project is to compare surveys completed at a prescription Clinic, then a second after they have received the prescribed change.

To date, only the first phase results have been collected. Discussion for additions or corrections are welcome.
