In July 2014 the 5 th International Septuaginta Summer school will be organised in Göttingen. She is well known for her standard book on Symmachus in the Pentateuch (1991). The Septuaginta Summer School will take place at the Faculty of Theology of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen:

The participation fee for the Septuaginta Summer School is 300,- Euro. This fee covers:

5 nights (Sunday, July 20—Friday, July 25, 2014) in a single room (breakfast incl.) in a 3*-hotel (additional nights before or after the summer school can be booked extra)

All seminar sessions during the Septuaginta Summer School will be given in English.

From July 21 — 25, 2014, the 5th International Septuaginta Summer School will be held in Göttingen, one of Europe’s nicest university cities located in the heart of Germany.

The summer school is organised by the Septuaginta-Unternehmen of the Academy of Sciences and Humanities of Göttingen, which represents more than a century of critical study of the Septuagint. Cooperation partners are the Faculty of Theology of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Centrum Orbis Orientalis et Occidentalis (CORO).

Students and doctoral students from European and other universities will investigate the theories concerning the production of LXX Isaiah, as well as the interpretational history of the Greek versions of Isaiah in Judaism and

Christianity.

An attractive cultural programme will offer the participants an exclusive insight into the university town of Göttingen by following the trail of great scholars who built the rich tradition of the city and its university and shaped the reputed biblical research projects of the Academy of Sciences and Humanities.

The number of par cipants of the Septua-ginta Summer School is limited to 16.

Applica ons should be made before March 15, 2014 to the Septuaginta-Unternehmen, a n. of Chr. Schäfer (Chris an.Schaefer@ mail.uni-goe ngen.de). They have to con-tain a statement of personal mo va on for par cipa ng in the Summer School as well as a curriculum vitae and previous student record.

Succesful applicants will receive the binding authorisa on to par cipate as well as detailed course informa on between March 20—25, 2014.
