NSS unit of Prerna College of Commerce organised a special visit for Street
‘Children’.
Street life is a challenge for survival, even for adults, and is yet more difficult for
children. NSS unit of Prerna College of Commerce organized a special visit on 8th
September
2018 for Street ‘Children’ with the support of management. Visit was organized under the
guidance of Prof. Dipti Malviya, Co-ordinator of NSS unit. The main motto for this visit was to
create awareness.
It was revealed that extreme poverty was the primary cause for the increasing numbers of street
children. Lack of awareness among illiterate parents regarding educational opportunities kept
most children away from school attendance. Factors such as lack of an educational ambience at
home made it difficult for the children to work on their lessons outside the premises of the
institution. It was evident that those living with their parents had better access to health care
facilities than did those living on their own. Although exposure to harsh reality at an early age
had resulted in a premature loss of innocence in most, making them sometimes difficult to work
with, the nongovernmental organizations were striving to ensure child participation and the
growth of individual identity.
The volunteers gave a sympathic hearing on their problems related to daily life & future worries.
The NSS volunteers also distributed various gifts to them to bring a smile on their face. All NSS
unit members with NSS coordinator, Prof. Nisha Vyas and Prof. Deepti Malviya, Principal Dr.
Anushree Mahajan and all NSS volunteers put ecstatically their support for making program
successful. 97 students were present at the event.

Traffic Awareness Camp
Traffic awareness is very important in this age of speed. Therefore to acquainted the
students with all the important traffic rules and the principles of road traffic management the
NSS unit of Prerna College of Commerce organized traffic awareness Programme on 9th
February 2019.
It was revealed that 60 per cent of the accident victims are in between 16 and 35 years
and the main causes of accidents were speeding, overtaking, overloading and others. The rally
peacefully started from Prerna College of Commerce and passed through Tukadoji square, to
Ajani Police Station and back to college. The students through slogans tried to bring about social
awakening such as to follow proper traffic rules , to wear helmet while driving a two wheeler ,
obey the traffic lights to avoid accidents, wear seat belt while driving a car, etc.
Mr.Sameer Jivne part of Traffic police team at Ajni office showed a chart containing road
safety signs and taught the students the meaning of the signs. He also mentioned that everyone
should memorize the signs, as when you apply for driving license identifications of these come
in the questions. If you are able to identify these signs then only you will get a license
To improve the traffic of the city, the team of traffic police gave their whatsapp number
and helpline number and also said if any one breaks the traffic rules just make a video and send it
to them.
Total 55 students took active participation in road rally.
