Thank you to all who made this year's Holy Week a meaningful journey for NRPC. There were children who led the palm processional; hard working hands that prepared delicious meals on Thursday and Easter morning; skilled readers that told the incredible story; musicians that proclaimed the Good News, con-gregants who joined in prayer, meditation and song to share in the witness of Jesus' last week on earth. Thank you all! - NRPC staff
Nifty Sixties Plus: The Nifty Sixties Luncheon for this month will be held this Wednesday, April 26th. All 60’s and over are invited to attend and please bring a dish to share. If you have any questions please call Pat Bidwell at 919-846-8949.
Help Needed For Reception: There will be a reception on Sunday, May 14 and the fellowship ministry team needs your help! If you are willing to provide food for either of these events please contact Janet Livengood at [email protected] or 919-624-1195. Thank you!
Sunday Evening Book Discussion: Please join us at the next NRPC Sunday Even-ing Book Discussion Group on April 30 at 7:00 in the church library. The book we will be discussing is “A Long Obedience in the Same Direction: Discipleship in an Instant Society” by Eugene Peterson. If you need transportation or have questions, please contact Story Ingold at 919-615-1469 or [email protected].
SAVE THE DATE! The annual church picnic is Sunday, June 4! Delicious food, great fellowship and water games– don’t miss it!
April Outreach Focus: Former members of NRPC, Dave and Anne Vellenga, and the youth of Nutbush Presbyterian Church in Henderson, NC, have asked us to help them collect clothing to donate to their community. Because Vance County is one of the poorest counties in North Carolina there are never enough clothes, especially children’s clothes, to meet the demand. We are having a clothing drive to increase their spring collection. Please place your donations of clothes in good condition in the lobby of the Faith Ministries Building. The last day to drop things off is Sunday, April 30. Dave, Anne, the congregation of Nutbush, and their community thank you so very much.
Habitat Home Preservation: Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24. Volunteers, ages 14 and up, will be doing exterior home repairs, no experience necessary! More information can be found in this weeks Friday News. Questions? Contact Bob Lippard, [email protected].

PRELUDE Crown Him With Many Crowns Adult Bells
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Let there be songs of victory to you, O God, let the whole
assembly sing of your salvation.
People: You are our strength and our salvation, O Lord; we have
cried to you, and you have answered.
Leader: You are our God, and we will give thanks to you. You are our
God, who has given us life.
People: Give thanks to God for the Lord is good, God’s steadfast love
endures forever!
*HYMN 108 Christ Is Alive!
*CALL TO CONFESSION
(Please observe a moment of silent confession.)
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty God, in raising Jesus from the grave, you shattered the
power of sin and death. We confess that we remain captive to
doubt and fear, bound by the ways that lead to death. We overlook
the poor and the hungry, and pass by those who mourn; we are deaf
to the cries of the oppressed, and indifferent to calls for peace; we
despise the weak, and abuse the earth you made. Forgive us, God of
mercy. Help us to trust your power to change our lives and make us
new, that we may know the joy of life abundant given in Jesus
Christ, the risen Lord.
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: Friends, believe the good news of the gospel.
People: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Amen.
*THE PEACE
Leader: The peace of Christ be with you.
People: And also with you!
Leader: I invite you to pass the peace with your neighbor.
*RESPONSE OF PRAISE 299 Amen, Amen

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day
our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our
debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.
Amen.
