CÁMARA PARAGUAYA DE LA STEVIA - CAPASTE

The actual organizative structure is the following: President: Mr. Julio Cazal. Vice-President: Mr. Juan Crisóstomo Gaona. Secretary: Mrs. Margarita Duarte.

CAPASTE is an organization that involves the most importants actors related to STEVIA in Paraguay and has been working for many years in promotions, laws, public services, politics and systematic investigation in order to provide and publicate statistical information.

Some of the institutions and firms that have participated in CAPASTE projects are: Moisés Bertoni Foundation, researchers from the public and private areas, Ministry of Industry and Commerce through the export and investment program – REDIEX.

CAPASTE is an active member of:o Mexican Chamber of Stevia – CAMEXTEo European Stevia Asociation – EUSTASo REDIEX – Ministry of Industry and Commerceo Union of Paraguayan Production Firms - UGP

In the past ten years CAPASTE has achieved importants results for Paraguay as a country and for its people and firms.

Obtención del decreto del Poder Ejecutivo donde se declara que la Planta de KA´A HE´E es de origen paraguayo.

La realización de 3 Simposios Internacionales.

Gestión , obtención y lanzamiento del “ Sello de Origen Paraguayo de la Cámara Paraguaya de la Stevia”.

Obtención de la resolución por el cual se excluye del listado de “ plantas en vías de extinción” del Ka´a He´e, que hasta ese momento no permitían su utilización en cualquiera de sus formulas.

Participación preponderante en las acciones pertinentes para la aprobación del steviol glicósido , como alimento y aditivo ante los organismos de la FAO /CODEX/JECFA, aprobados en Junio del 2008.-

Principal impulsor de las gestiones tendientes al logro de la “denominación de origen paraguayo” del Ka´a He´e ante todos los organismos e instituciones gubernamentales.

Annual projects or results that CAPASTE wish to accomplish in a short period of time.

Instalación de Industrias con Tecnología de avanzada ya sea con inversión extranjeras o nacional.

Incorporación de tecnología de punta, tanto en la parte industrial como en la agronómica y la elaboración de productos a base de Stevia mediante el fomento de investigación y desarrollo para el logro de la expansión de cultivos a 10 mil hectáreas para fines del 2013 y con variedades mejoradas.

930 producers and theirs families have been trained by an organization FECOPROD that is specialized in administration and work association in order to improve their administrative performance.

CAPASTE has obtained the Protocol of Stevia in Best Practices in Agriculture. The producers are training in Best Practices in Agriculture by prepared technicians in this field. The development of Germplasm Banks of Stevia where it has been obtained best varieties of plants.
