This is our school. It was built in 1996. It has 300 students and 35 teachers! Senior high school is not compulsory in Greece and it lasts 3 years for those who want to attend it. Lets explore it!

The schoolyard has two basket ball fields and one volleyball field. Here we spend our lesson breaks when we relax and have our snacks! We make good use of it as it’s usually sunny. This is our favorite place!

Now lets get inside the school!

Page 16: Presentation of Greek school

Here is the main hall of our school! Just in front of you is the room where the sub head teacher and the Head Teacher offices are. Next to the hall there is a meeting room, where we hold our seminars, different shows and events!

Here is the office of our beloved headmistress. But right now, she is not in her office! Sorry!

Our school takes part in different sport competitions(football, volleyball, handball, running) and has been awarded many trophies! Here are the rewards of the hard training students!

Ah! That’s the meeting Hall. There is a seminar for year 1 students today.

Further down the hall there are the teachers room and the library. Lets take a look at them!

The Library

In the library anyone can borrow and read the books they like. Access is free to all during the school working hours.Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as systematically as in the past as, due to lack of funds, there isn’t a librarian any more.

This is our previous Comenius project we had with Latvia on Volunteering

One of year A classes

Each classroom has around 25 students. They are totally 15 classrooms, among which the chemistry lab and the ICT classroom.

The ICT class. Don’t be impressed by the equipment. Rather … old.

Page 32: Presentation of Greek school

Here is our funny sub teacher Mr. Georgakis, a physicist, and just next to him, his really, really old friend! You guessed right. This is the science lab.

Page 33: Presentation of Greek school

And since we are talking about old friends and just before we finish, next to our school there is a big graveyard of the 3rd century BC from Ancient Amvrakia (what Arta was called back then)! They don’t like to talk, but you can say hello to them!

Page 34: Presentation of Greek school

This was our school! We are waiting for you to come and have fun! Bye!
