Grinding : Process of removing metal but comparatively smaller in volume. Material
is removed by means of a rotating abrasive wheel.
Purpose of grinding:
1. To remove very small amount of metal.
2. To obtain better finished surface.
3. Machining hard surfaces which are else difficult to machine by
H.S.S. tool & carbide cutters.
4. Grinding threads.
5. Extremely smooth finish &
very accurate dimensions.
