TUE NOV 10
Yangon - Bagan After breakfast we will be
transferred to the airport for
our flight to Bagan.
On arrival, we begin with a
visit to Nyaung Oo market
where locals gather every day
to buy and sell everything
from fresh produce and meats
to flowers and pottery.
Next we will continue to
Ananda Temple, one of the
most revered temples in
Bagan. We will see it when it
is quiet in the morning, long
before the tour buses arrive.
Visit a monastery and witness
the offering of new robes and
other goods to the monks
(called Khathein
ceremony). It is also special
to see cash offerings to
monasteries. Afterwards, we
will go to Myintkaba village
and visit Gubyaukgyi Temple
which is noted for its
beautiful mural paintings on
the inner walls and well-
preserved plaster carvings on
its exterior. Nearby is
Manuha Temple and Nan
Temple, two smaller temples
with a Buddha statue . We
will give you a chance to get
some lunch and then check in
to the hotel. Afternoon is free.
We will return to the city in
the late afternoon for a short
horse cart ride among the
temple plain, stopping to
enjoy the sunset at an
elevated temple. We will
suggest dinner options for the

WED NOV 11
Bagan Optional sunrise balloon
tour - Around 5:30am the
shuttle bus will pick you up at
the hotel. Before “lift off” you
will enjoy some refreshments
and you can also take some
great pictures. You will fly
for about one hour enjoying
spectacular views of the
ancient Kingdom of Bagan in
your hot air balloon! Upon
touch down you will toast a
memorable trip with a glass of
sparkling wine.
SUN NOV 8
Arrive Yangon
On arrival we will be
welcomed by our local guide
and transferred to downtown
with a brief introduction
en-route. Relax beside the
hotel pool or take a leisurely
walk along the Inya Lake.
MON NOV 9
Yangon After breakfast we will begin
our exploration of Yangon
with a walking tour taking in
some of the best examples of
the city’s wonderful colonial
architecture, then continue to
vibrant Chinatown & Indian
Quarter. Lunch is on your
own but we will stop at a local
tea house to enjoy a range of
delicious foods. This after-
noon, we visit the Chaukhtat-
kyi Reclining Buddha Image
and end the day with a visit to
the fascinating Shwedagon
pagoda “Great Pyramid of
Fire”. We will enjoy the
sunset and participate in the
local religious event of light-
ing 1000 oil lamps on the
pagoda platform together
with the local pilgrims.
SUN NOV 15
Inle Lake
We will enjoy a full day tour-
ing around the lake by local
boat. Along the way you will
gain a fascinating insight into
life on the waterways ,
passing fishermen
famous for their curious
‘leg-rowing’ technique and
lush ‘floating gardens’ where
local farmers grow a
surprising variety of fruit and
vegetables. First stop is the
region’s morning market,
which rotates its location
around the lake’s villages in a
5-day rhythm and is visited
by all kinds of people from
surrounding villages and hill
tribes. The market is not just
a place for trade, it is also an
important central meeting
place for the locals in the
region. Visit Nga Hpe Kyaung
Monastery, also known as
'Jumping Cat Monastery',
then continue to Phaung Daw
Oo Pagoda, the lake’s main
sanctuary which contains five
sacred Buddha images whose
shapes have been distorted by
the enormous amount of gold
leaf applied to them by
devotees. After lunch, cruise
to the lakeside village of In
Dein. Here we’ll explore the
ancient stupas of Nyaung
Ohak and Shwe Inn Thein
Paya. You will also have time
to take a stroll around this
enchanting village before
cruising back to your hotel.

Inle Lake A free day to relax at
beautiful Inle Lake. (B)
TUE NOV 17
Yangon After breakfast we will be
transferred to the airport for
our flight to Yangon.
Upon arrival we visit
Myanmar Women Develop-
ment Association (MWEA) to
observe how young girls and
many options your guide will
recommend. (B,L)
FRI NOV 13
Mandalay After breakfast we visit U
Bein Bridge - a 200 year-old
teak bridge which spans over
2 km. Later we’ll head out of
Mandalay to Sagaing Hill
which is covered with over
600 white-painted pagodas
and monasteries, and is home
to over 3,000 monks and
nuns. We will visit a local
nunnery where we will
contribute food at the daily
alms offering before joining
the nuns for lunch to interact
and learn about their lives of
spiritual devotion.
We will return for a city
tour which includes a visit to
Mandalay’s lively Jade
Market buzzing with traders
and workers cutting and
polishing jade - great for
people watching! After a visit
to Mandalay Hill we return to
the hotel in the late
afternoon. (B,L)
SAT NOV 14
Mandalay - Inle Lake Morning transfer to the
airport for our flight to Heho.
On arrival we will drive to
Nyaung Shwe beside Inle
Lake. Explore a market where
locals buy and sell fresh
produce. Continue by trishaw
down to the bustling canal
which is a hive of activity in
the morning.
After lunch we continue
along the lake’s eastern
shores where you will see
farmers planting or harvest-
ing their crops. Stop for a visit
at Red Mountain Estate, one
of Myanmar’s best vineyards.
Enjoy a wine tasting,
sampling several varieties
of Red Mountain wine while
enjoying the views at the open
-air bar. Return to your
hotel beside Inle Lake. (B)
After breakfast we will begin a
full day of exploring Bagan -
by bicycle* and coach. First
stop is the charming village of
Minnathu for an insight into
local life. You will stumble
upon the village blacksmith
and other workshops offering
local handicrafts. Continue
with a visit to the imposing
12th century Dhammayazika
Paya, known as ‘the bad luck
temple’. Before we end our
bike tour we will have the
opportunity to stop by a local
school for a visit. Women
With Wings cherishes the
opportunity to meet and
interact with the children.
Later this afternoon, we
embark on a lovely boat ride
on the famed Irrawaddy River
to visit Kyauk Gu U Min.
Built on the side of a cliff, the
temple contains a cave behind
its main hall with small
niches for meditation. If time
and water levels permit we
will stop to visit one of the
tiny villages on the river
banks. As we return to Bagan
we will watch the sun set over
the Irrawaddy. Enjoy dinner
at Nanda Restaurant followed

THU NOV 12
Bagan - Mandalay This morning we will depart
early and transfer to the jetty
for a full day cruise to
Mandalay. The scenery along
the Irrawaddy is timeless –
oxen working the fields, water
buffalo wallowing in the mud,
golden pagoda spires, fisher-
men, villagers bathing in the
river and, of course, every
type of boat and river craft
that you can imagine. Lunch
will be served onboard.
We should arrive in Mandalay
later in the day. After check-
in and freshening up, take a
stroll to enjoy local life and a
leisurely dinner at one of the
