Bookaroo has been held in eight cities so far - Delhi, Srinagar, Pune, Kuching, Goa, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Kolkata.

The history of the origin and the growth of the Indian Museum is one of the remarkable events towards the development of heritage and culture of India.

Founded in 1814 at the cradle of the Asiatic Society of Bengal, Indian Museum is the earliest and the largest multipurpose Museum not only in the Indian subcontinent but also in the Asia-Pacific region of the world.

Its mission is to be a visitor friendly destination of international standards and to continuously enhance the quality of satisfaction of the visitors as well as become a hub for professional enrichment through various training programmes, short-term courses, seminars and festivals.

amar Chitra katha makes comics for people of all ages. For almost fifty years, they’ve been telling stories that are dear to India - exploits of Indian warriors, wondrous tales from the epics, fables and folktales.

ameen ul haque collects stories - from everywhere. He can stay awake the whole night, go without food, climb mountains and walk miles - just to listen to a story.

arunava sinha eats children who don’t like reading books; feeds children who do, all the food their parents don’t want them to read; translates books from Bengali into English because children like that. He can’t sing.

An independent photographer and video artiste Baishampayan saha is a part of the visual installation group of the collective Five Issues and Best of Kolkata Campus.

Champa saha is a teacher, special educator and counsellor who has been reading, listening to and telling stories ever since she can remember.

debalina Bhowmick, a folk singer, based in Kolkata, is known for her mellifluous voice. Debalina has performed at numerous music festivals, both national and international. Her first music album was released in 2014.

dilip mondal is a well-known puppeteer and director of Dhumketu Puppet Theatre. He started his journey with puppets in the year 1990 and has travelled all across India.

Jane de suza has written the three laugh-out-loud SuperZero books, among other top-sellers. She’s coming all the way from Bangalore to help children fly, which she can’t do herself because she keeps falling on her big head.

Jash sen is a DU, IIM graduate who worked in IT and taught mathematics while dreaming of writing a book.

Jit Chowdhury is a visual storyteller with his own studio in Kolkata, jitch. Before he starts writing he draws each character, afterwards he reads the stories to his dog for approval.

kartik mondal is one of the veteran puppeteers of West Bengal, Practicing for the last 30 years his team Bhagyalaxmi Putul Naach is known for their skills of string puppetry.

dr. kavita gupta merchant, scientist by qualification and artist by choice, expresses her creativity through clay believing that clay is more flexible than an acrobat and helps to bring out the Michaelangelo in us all.

Writing short stories and plays, translating children’s books, conducting storytelling sessions and children’s theatre are a few of the things that multifaceted indrani Barua does. She has translated many Tulika stories into Bengali.

Founded in 1996, Jhalapala is a Kolkata-based theatre group for children that aims at making theatre a source of creative joy.

lalita iyer straddles the world of writing for both children and grown-ups and doesn’t know which gives her more joy. She left behind a career in journalism and advertising to become a full time writer.

Born on Children’s Day manjira majumdar would rather be like Peter Pan; a child always at heart, a dreamer and spinner of yarns. Working with words and more words she escapes occasionally into the twilight zone.

A spoken word performer, independent media analyst, curator and a performance consultant by profession, parnab mukherjee is one of the leading alternative theatre directors and campus public speaking experts of the country.

pavel paul is a graphic designer who enjoys sharing his love and enthusiasm for the theatre with children of all ages. His secret - he has never grown up.

prayag shukla is a Sahitya Akademi award winner, a well-known poet, art critic, editor and author of books in Hindi fiction for adults and children.

proiti Roy is a children’s illustrator who has always loved to read, draw and paint – and run and dance. She was born and studied in Shantinekatan and she still lives there - with 18 rescued dogs!

Ranjita Biswas is a journalist, writer and translator. She enjoys art, films and cooking but is fascinated by People - with a capital P. She has been seriously bitten by the travel bug!

Ritu khoda left the corporate world to found Art1st in 2009. She figured that she would rather have her head full of racing thoughts on how to transform art education in India.

sangat haldar is one of the most promising young theatre musicians of Kolkata. He has worked on a range of mediums including stage productions, session recordings, television slots and open-air performances.

santanil ganguly loves theatre and so many things from his childhood. He loves storytelling, travelling, Brazilian football, bird watching, trekking and… chatpata foods.

shreya sen’s love of russian picture books and drawing on walls led her to studying Animation Film Design. She likes green tea, Calcutta Tramways, Ikkat bedspreads, solitary rickshaw rides and drawing on any surface.

siddhant shah, a heritage architect and access management consultant, works with museums and art galleries to bridge the gap between cultural heritage and disability, through educational and multi-sensory experiential activities, for children with special needs.

sonali Chitrakar is a new generation Patua artist from Naya village. As any other girl in the village she learned painting from the master Dukhushyam Chitrakar. She is also known for her soulful singing.

suman Chitrakar is a Patua artist from West Bengal. He has been creatively infusing new themes to the traditional art form of Patua, and has evolved a distinctive style of his own.

swati sengupta loves small towns, tea and the chirping of birds. She writes fiction and non-fiction for the young and not-so-young. In her beautiful world girls and boys don’t carry out gender specific roles.

Where would you find a cowardly forest ranger, a literal-minded goof, a fangless lily-livered vampire and a minister plotting for the king’s throne? In tinkle, that’s where! Come laugh, learn and have fun, all through comics!
