THE COMPANYThe Julius Meinl brand stands for tradi-

tion, delicious indulgence, quality and ex-pertise and is one of the strongest brands

Austria has ever had – more than 95% of all Austri-ans know the Meinl logo with its famous “Maure“.

Julius Meinl was established in 1862 and today is managed by the 5th generation of the family. It all started with the innovative idea of Julius Meinl more than 150 years ago, to be the first company to sell roasted coffee. Before, only the green cof-fee beans were sold which people then had to roast themselves. The idea was met with instant success and very soon Julius Meinl became an institution in the Austrian food market. Also, the demand from restaurants increased con-tinuously: Today, Julius Meinl is the market leader for coffee in Austria and, worldwide, more than 1 billion cups of Julius Meinl cof-fee are being served every year.

The Julius Meinl Group successfully operates in more than 70 countries as a supplier to cof-fee houses or operator of its own coffee houses around the globe, offering customers high-end products such as coffee, tea, chocolate, jam and much more. In addition to the coffee production, the Meinl Group includes the gourmet temple “Julius Meinl am Graben”, the Meinl internet com-merce online shop, and the Meinl Bank. In 2012 the group was able to increase sales by 6 % to € 131 million.

Julius Meinl am Graben – Gourmet FoodsJulius Meinl am Graben, the flagship of the Julius-Meinl chain, is located right in the centre of Vienna – a culinary piece of art on three floors and Austria’s premier ad-dress for connoisseurs from around the world. Over the last 40 years, the delica-tessen shop has developed to become the Austrian “Mecca for connois-seurs and gourmands“ and, with its broad range of high quality products including more than

17,000 items from approximately 100 countries, the shop plays a major role in the Austrian food market. To set new trends in the delicatessen trade and to satisfy even the most extravagant demands of our customers, the buyers of Julius Meinl am Graben are constantly looking for inter-esting high quality products, either for sale or for use by our own, toque seal-awarded cuisine. In addition to the large variety of products with in-ternational brand names, Julius Meinl am Graben creates premium products under its own brand which can be found almost throughout the entire product range. For this purpose, we select domes-tic and foreign producers who guarantee quality rather than quantity. Since May 2017, select Julius

Meinl brand products and top sellers can even be purchased at the new Meinl-

Shop in the Marienmarkt in Wiener Neustadt.

MEINL’S COFFEE Meinl’s own coffee department offers a range of fine coffee blends, single origin select planta-

tion coffees and international coffee rarities such as the In-donesian delicacy Kopi Luwak or the “most precious“ Jamai-can coffee, the Blue Mountain. Furthermore, in addition to the generally available Meinl cof-fees, one can chose from a spe-cial range of single-region Julius Meinl coffees from the major growing areas for premium cof-fee: Ethiopia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Kenya and Tanza-nia. For perfect enjoyment, the ideal way of preparing your coffee is described on the back of each Meinl range coffee pack-age: Espresso, filter coffee or

Turkish coffee.

The enticing offerings are com-pleted by sophisticated own creations as well as home-made Madeleines and muf-fins.

MEINL’S BA-KERYThe credo of the fragrant bread depart-ment is to offer a variety of domestic and interna-tional breads and cookies. Whether dark or white, stuffed or embedded, soft or crunchy – from special breads from the Waldviertel such as Sau-erkraut bread and Roggenweckerl [rye rolls] from the only certified SlowBaking bakery in Austria, to the Vienna “Kaisersemmel“ [emperor rolls] or tempting croissants – every gourmet will find his favourite in this bakery.
