Press Release MP McColeman Invites You to Join the Brant Summer Roundtable Series Brantford, ON, May 2, 2014 - Brant MP Phil McColeman gathered with media and community representatives this morning to announce the new Brant Summer Roundtable Series, and to issue an open invitation to all interested members of the community to join in and participate. The series is a new initiative to promote open dialogue and the exchange of ideas on key matters impacting the Brant riding. The roundtables will also provide direct opportunities for individuals and organizations to provide feedback and ideas to the federal government. “My office is always seeking out new and innovative ways to deliver exceptional MP services for constituents,” said McColeman. “The Brant Summer Roundtable Series is another way to continue expanding and improving the services that we provide by offering new forums to promote collaboration and dialogue, to encourage feedback and to generate ideas to improve our community.” “We’ve decided to target key matters of importance to the Brant riding that might not always be given adequate focus at a typical economic or pre-budget consultation roundtable,” McColeman added. “And we’ve ditched the guest list. Brantford, ON, May 2, 2014 - Brant MP Phil McColeman gathered with media and community representatives this morning to announce the new Brant Summer Roundtable Series, and to issue an open invitation to all interested members of the community to join in and participate.

The Brant Social Innovation RoundtableJune 25, 2013 – 10:00 am Brant Mutual Insurance Company – Community Room

The Brant Social Innovation Roundtable aims to bring together local individuals and non-profit organizations to seek out and share ideas about new and different ways to address some the social challenges in our communities; and to discuss ways to ultimately greater tap the potential of different forms of social finance, including social purpose enterprise.

The Brant Agricultural Growth RoundtableJuly 23, 2013 – 10:00 amBurford Agricultural Society

The Brant Agricultural Growth Roundtable aims to bring together representatives from across the continuum of the Brant agriculture and agri-food sector. The roundtable will seek out ideas and feedback on enabling prosperous and sustainable farms and promoting the growth of the Brant farming industry.

Joining McColeman to help launch the summer roundtable series were Frank and Nancy DiFelice, founders of the renowned Brantford International Jazz Festival, who emphasized the value of bringing together members from across the community to discuss challenges and opportunities in our arts, culture and tourism sectors.

Also joining McColeman was Michelle Heaslip and Joy Freeman of Nova Vita Domestic Violence Prevention Services and to help launch the Social Innovation Roundtable and discuss the importance of bringing the community together to talk about opportunities in the realm of social finance.

Brant County Federation of Agriculture President Chris Kyle joined McColeman to highlight the importance of drawing in a wide-range of stakeholders from across the value chain of the Brant agricultural sector to promote innovation, growth and sustainability in the industry.

McColeman encouraged these organizations and others to spread the word and is inviting members of the community who might be interested in participating in any of these new roundtable discussions to put their names forward.
