COMPETITION 1 - STUDENTS & TRAINEESBLOW-DRY - CONSUMER FASHION STYLE - Entry fee £15 Start 11.15am Time allowed 30 minutes 1. To produce a consumer fashion salon style.2. Hair must be wet and brushed through and back off the model’s face before the

start of the competition.3. Any styling products and equipment may be used.4. Models must be female.

COMPETITION 2 - STUDENTS & TRAINEESLADIES CONSUMER CUT AND FINISHEntry fee £15 Start 12.15pm Time allowed 40 minutes 1. Minimum of two colours must be used.2. All tools may be used.3. Hair must be wet and brushed through and back off the model’s face before the

start of the competition.4. Hair must be cut and finished on the floor.5. A minimum of 1.5cm must be cut from all parts of the head.6. Judges will be looking for commercial work.7. Model must be female.

COMPETITION 3 - STUDENTS & TRAINEESFANTASY TOTAL LOOKEntry fee £15 Start 1.30pm Time allowed 10 minutes 1. Anything goes - be as creative as you can.2. Male or female models should come to the floor fully prepared, including hair,

clothes and make-up.3. 10 minutes allowed for final adjustments on the competition floor.4. Judges will be looking for the total look.5. Models may be either seated or standing on the floor for judging.6. Models must not be standing on chairs, boxes, steps, etc for health and safety

reasons.

NEW - JUNIOR CHAMPIONCompetitors must enter competitions 1 & 2. The competitor who gains the highest number of points in competitions 1 & 2 will be declared the Scottish Junior Champion.

PRESENTATION OF AWARDS: 2PM1st, 2nd & 3rd placed winners will be awarded medals and certificates.

look (cut and finish)2. Models hair can be wet and must be

brushed through and back off the model’s face before the start of the competition

3. All cutting equipment may be used4. Any styling products and equipment may

be used5. A minimum of 1.5cm must be cut from all

parts of the head6. Hair must be cut and finished on the floor7. Judges will be looking for a Fashion On

Trend look8. Model must be female

COMPETITION 5 - OPEN TO ALLMALE FASHION TOTAL LOOK – BLOW DRYEntry fee £20 Start 3pm Time allowed 30 minutes 1. To produce a finish from wet hair2. Models hair must be brushed through and

back off the model’s face before the start of the competition

3. Any styling products and equipment may be used

4. Judges will be looking for the Total look including make-up and other accessories

5. Model must be male

creative work2. Dress and make-up will be taken into

account3. All work must be carried out on the

competition floor 4. No pre-preparation allowed5. Hair must be brushed through and back

of the model’s face before the start of the competition

6. Any styling products and equipment may be used

7. Model must be female

COMPETITION 8 - OPEN TO ALLBEAUTIFUL BRIDEEntry fee £20 Start 4.30pm Time allowed 30 minutes 1. To produce a hairstyle suitable for the bride on her big day2. Hair can be wet and must be brushed through and back off the model’s face

before the start of the competition3. If the hair is pre-dried in rollers the model must come to the competition floor with

the rollers in place for the scrutineers to see. Time will be allowed for the rollers to be removed and for the hair to be brushed through

4. All un-prepared hair pieces must be brushed through and presented on the table for scrutineers to see at the start of the competition

5. Ornamentation and headdresses are allowed but not compulsory6. Model must wear bridal dress (not necessarily traditional)7. Any styling products and equipment may be used

COMPETITION 9 - OPEN TO ALLCOLOUR CREATION OF THE DAYEntry fee £5 Start 5.30pm Time allowed 5 minutes 1. Competitors to present their male or female model from any of the day’s

competitions

COMPETITION 10 - OPEN TO ALLPHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITIONEntry fee £5 Photographs of Male or Female models in colour or black & white, suitable for front cover of a fashion magazine. No larger than 10” x 8”. Write name and address on back of photograph and bring with you on the day. Enter at ballot table.

GENERAL RULES1. Models will be scrutinised prior to and during each competition and penalty

points will be deducted for over preparation.2. Entrants into the student and trainee categories must be working towards or have

completed NVQ/SVQ Levels 2 or 3 during 2017. 3. Contestants must supply mirrors for their own use. (If required).4. The winner of the Gaston Boudou Trophy and Parr Memorial Trophy will be

allowed to have photographs taken with the Trophy but it must be returned before the competitors leave the venue.

5. The organising committee reserve the right to amend rules and conditions or refuse entries : The Jury’s decision is final.

6. Competitions with less than three entries will be cancelled.7. Competitions will run as floor space permits. All competitors must be in the hall 30

minutes prior to the start of their competition for registration.8. Some competitions will have a limited entry so early submission of entry forms is

advisable.9. At least two thirds of the head must be covered in rollers, pins, rods, etc. With a

minimum of 6 rollers.10. All electrical equipment must be in good condition. Adaptors will not be allowed.

Only one socket per competitor. Maximum drier rating : 2000 watts.11. Due care and attention must be taken when applying any products and

accessories.12. The closing date for entries is 30th October 2017. Late entries will incur a £2.00

The competitor to be declared Scottish Open Junior Champion will be the competitor who gains the highest number of points in competitions 1 and 2. The competitor to be declared Scottish Open Champion for Gentlemen’s Hairdressing will be the competitor who gains the highest number of points in competitions 5 and 7 (Parr Memorial Trohy) The competitor to be declared Scottish Open Champion for Ladies’ Hairdressing will be the competitor who gains the highest number of points in competitions 4 and 6 (Gaston Boudou Trophy)The competitors to be declared Scottish National Champions will be as above but they must reside and work in Scotland.
