I am very fortunate that I get to work with such a dedicated and hard working group of teachers and SLSOs who are passionate about achieving the very best they can for all our students. SWIM SCHOOL Swim school started this week and all of the students have been doing a great job of improving their swimming ability. It is such an important life skill for our children to learn that I am grateful that we are able to give these students the chance to have a 2 week intensive program just before we start the Summer season and great swimming weather. Next week the program will connue with assessments done at the end of the week that will gauge improvement. VOLUNTEER THANK YOU MORNING TEA We are looking forward to next Wednesday 27th November, when all the wonderful people who take me out of their busy schedules to volunteer their services to help our students, will celebrate the year past with a lovely morning tea. Volunteers have done many varied and different things around the school to help out, everything from making toast for breakfast, covering books, listening to students read, working in our gardens or general jobs around the school. Without these wonderful people our students would miss the chance of geng to know some great people in our community. I would like to thank each and every person who makes a contribuon to our school community, no maer how big or small, because without you many wonderful programs wouldnt work. Invitaons should be coming home this week and next, but if it doesnt get to you in me, know that you are welcome and please come. If you are one of our fantasc volunteers please clear your schedules and make some me to come and celebrate everything you do for our school. Belinda Doyle (Principal)

Principal Report

Term 4 Week 6 2019

WHAT A WONDERFUL WEEK!

I was lucky enough to spend some time meeting a few of our new Kindergarten students who will be starting school in 2020. I also had the opportunity to speak with the parents and tell them a little bit about our school and all the wonderful things that happen here, what a fantastic P & C Association that works diligently at our school and the fantastic teachers we have. I am very fortunate that I get to work with such a dedicated and hard working group of teachers and SLSO’s who are passionate about achieving the very best they can for all our students.

SWIM SCHOOL

Swim school started this week and all of the students have been doing a great job of improving their swimming ability. It is such an important life skill for our children to learn that I am grateful that we are able to give these students the chance to have a 2 week intensive program just before we start the Summer season and great swimming weather. Next week the program will continue with assessments done at the end of the week that will gauge improvement.

VOLUNTEER THANK YOU MORNING TEA

We are looking forward to next Wednesday 27th November, when all the wonderful people who take time out of their busy schedules to volunteer their services to help our students, will celebrate the year past with a lovely morning tea. Volunteers have done many varied and different things around the school to help out, everything from making toast for breakfast, covering books, listening to students read, working in our gardens or general jobs around the school. Without these wonderful people our students would miss the chance of getting to know some great people in our community. I would like to thank each and every person who makes a contribution to our school community, no matter how big or small, because without you many wonderful programs wouldn’t work. Invitations should be coming home this week and next, but if it doesn’t get to you in time, know that you are welcome and please come. If you are one of our fantastic volunteers please clear your schedules and make some time to come and celebrate everything you do for our school. Belinda Doyle (Principal)

Students from our school have recently undertaken an education tour of

the national capital, Students were given the opportunity to participate in a

variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture,

heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young

Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and

Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $20 per

student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program

towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon

completion of the excursion .

The first week of Swim School has been an amazing success, the program will continue to run daily next week, students participating will travel by bus from the

school to the Bay & Basin Leisure Centre pool.

We continue to ask students to wear their swimmers under their school uniform in the morning and bring a towel, goggles and underwear in a separate bag (green

shopping bags are great for this) PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING CLEARLY.
