We really want children to read every night at home. Reading a book from home will connue to build their reading strategies and skills. Ideally, the book from school should be on the easy side of things. This will ensure your childs confidence grows. If you would like more advice on supporng your child with their reading at home, please come and chat to their class teacher. Parents & Friends: Parents & Friends committee held their Mothers Day Stall today, which was very successful. I hope all the mums enjoy their presents and have a wonderful Mother s Day on Sunday. NAPLAN Naplan for children in Years 3 and 5 is next week. This is a country wide assessment tool of children. It also provides a snapshot of learning for that point in me. If you a parent of a Year 3 or Year 5 student, aendance at school on these days is highly important (even if they are a lile unwell). Uniform: As the winter months are closing in and it has been much colder in the last week, children will be changing into their winter clothing. A reminder to parents that school uniform is black pants and red school jumper, school dress. Black leggings are acceptable but black tights are not permitted. Coats and scarves are to be worn outside only, not in the classroom. We have also noticed girls wearing incorrect shorts. These should be basketball shorts which come to just above the knee. Shorter shorts are not acceptable uniform. School Council: Our next School Council meeting is on Tuesday 22nd May 2018 at 4:30pm.

RESPECT RESPONSIBILITY RESILIENCE

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD AT HOME WITH THEIR READING

A huge thank you to those parents who have been supporting their child/ren at home

with their reading. We really want children to read every night at home. Reading a book

from home will continue to build their reading strategies and skills. Ideally, the book from

school should be on the easy side of things. This will ensure your child’s confidence

grows. If you would like more advice on supporting your child with their reading at home,

please come and chat to their class teacher.

Parents & Friends:

Parents & Friends committee held their Mother’s Day Stall today, which was very successful. I hope all the mums enjoy their presents and have a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday.

NAPLAN

Naplan for children in Years 3 and 5 is next week. This is a country wide assessment tool of children. It

also provides a snapshot of learning for that point in time. If you a parent of a Year 3 or Year 5 student,

attendance at school on these days is highly important (even if they are a little unwell).

Uniform:

As the winter months are closing in and it has been much colder in the last week, children will

be changing into their winter clothing. A reminder to parents that school uniform is black pants

and red school jumper, school dress. Black leggings are acceptable but black tights are not

permitted. Coats and scarves are to be worn outside only, not in the classroom. We

have also noticed girls wearing incorrect shorts. These should be basketball shorts which come

to just above the knee. Shorter shorts are not acceptable uniform.
