Principals Report Term four begins with a very full calendar, which is attached. Although this term is actually eleven weeks, I am sure the
lead up to the Christmas holidays will fly by! Term 4 finishes on the 22nd of December this year, just in time for Christmas. With
the start of Term 4, comes a reminder that all students must wear a hat when outside if they are not in the designated shaded areas.
We also strongly encourage sunscreen use, especially on high UV rating days. If your child has sensitive skin, please send them to
school with their own sunscreen in their school bag.
This term we have already had our first Foundation orientation day, and a parent information afternoon tea will be held
later on in the term. The young children are already feeling part of our school family and are settling in nicely. As always, the
older students have welcomed them with open arms and looked after them by showing them around the school, playing with them
and making sure they felt right at home. Well done everyone, so lovely to see!
After School Activities begins Tuesday 17th October straight after school until 4.45pm., and will run for seven sessions.
The students will be heading up to the tennis courts in Apsley to have lessons hosted by Vanessa Grigg.. A huge thank you to
Vanessa for providing this opportunity for the students!
Coming up in only a couple of weeks is the Parent Club Auction Gala Night. We are so excited to have Sam Kekovich,
Australia's Lambassador, hosting the event and have been very lucky in receiving some amazing items to go up for Auction. Keep
an eye on our Facebook page to see a preview of what will be on offer! If you are interested and haven't already purchased a ticket
please give Paula Ellul a call on 0409 095 828. Tickets are $75 each and cover entry into the auction night, a beautiful three
course meal with live music.
Thank you to Robbie for having our grounds looking amazing for the start of Term 4. We know that he goes above and
beyond for our little school and his efforts do not go unnoticed . We really do appreciate him coming up during the holidays and in
the warmer weather!
This year the concert is going to be held on Thursday 14th December. At this stage, our students will be providing most of
the entertainment , however, we are also calling on community members who may be interested in singing a solo, doing a skit or
anything else! More information will be sent out further along in the term. A huge thank you to Mrs Mason who has taken on this
mammoth job. We have no doubt that we are going to have yet another fantastic School Concert.
School Council members are reminded that we have a meeting this coming Tuesday. Policy committee 6.30pm, followed
by Finance at 7.30 and School Council at 8pm..
Hopefully I’ll see you at the Auction Gala Night! Tanya Turner

So what did you think of the 2017 Year 3-6 camp to Warrnambool? On Tuesday at 10am we watched the Emoji movie and there
was a poop emoji, a devil emoji, an angel emoji and lots
and lots of emoji's. When the movie was finished we
went back to the cabins. Then we went to the
Warnambool Art Gallery. Then at 4.30pm we went to
the Nerf Gun and Go Karting centre. First we had to put
on safety glasses then we had to get pictures taken.
Then we got in the war zone. First we had to fill the nerf
guns then we started. I was in a team with Sienna, Riley,
Matthew and Alex but Charlotte, Hamish, Damon and
Luke were not a team. When we were done we went to
do Go Karting. When we were done Go Karting we went
back to the cabins and had tea. Then we went to Aqua
Zone. After swimming we got into our PJ’s and went to
bed. By Trinity.
We left school at 9am and stopped at the Botanic Gardens in
Hamilton. All us boys took at least 5 minutes to find the toilet. We
went to Flagstaff Hill and had a treasure hunt. Next we came home
and had dinner. After that we saw a sound and light show and it was
scary.
The next day we watched the Emoji Movie and we went to the
W.A.G (Warrnambool Art Gallery) and saw an inappropriate
sculpture as well as lots of paintings and photographs. We went
Nerf Gunning and I got shot in the face 12 times. Next was Go
Karting and I won a race. By Matthew
Our Camp.
My favourite thing on camp was the Nerf Gun War. I liked it because it
wasn't paint balling and it didn't really hurt. I had lots of fun at the Nerf Gun
War. I also enjoyed Flagstaff Hill I enjoyed it because it was very fun and
interesting. I liked the treasure hunt which was fun too. I really enjoyed
Flagstaff Hill. When we did our beach walk I found… some penguin tracks!!!
I also saw penguins because we were near the middle island. I really
enjoyed camp.
The End. By Charlotte.
Camp
On Monday my favourite thing was Flagstaff
Hill. We learnt how the children used to go to
school. They had to wear bonnets and
dresses and the boys had to wear suits and
hats. My next favourite thing was
Warrnambool Art Gallery which had 1900’
art on displays. We had a look at some
pictures from 1800’s too and we got some
books and some posters . I also liked the Nerf
Gun War and Go Karting. In the Nerf Gun War
Damon hit me in he face 11 times. In Go
Karting the man let us choose which colour to
use. I chose a yellow coloured car. By Sienna Our Camp
My favourite part of camp was Nerf Gun War
and coming home to see the year prep and
they're reaction when we arrived. My least
favourite part was going to bed. I really loved
the aquatic centre and the Emoji Movie. We
even made an Apsley sign that said Apsley P.S at
the beach out of seaweed and we got to see
penguins. We went to see an olden day cottage .
Another fun thing we got to do was go and see
“Granny’s Grave”. By Damon
My favourite things on camp were Nerf Gun War, Emoji Movie and Mini
Golf with the Jumping Pillow. I liked the Nerf Gun War because we got to
run around and hide behind things and you didn't have to pick up your
own bullets. The emoji movie was a good movie because it had funny
main characters that were the high five emoji, the “meh” emoji and a
princess emoji. Oi enjoyed Mini Golf and the jumping Pillow because I
was in a group with Matthew Damon and Riley and I was good at hitting
the ball. Damon won Mini golf. It was a great camp for my last camp at
Apsley primary School. By Hamish
CAMP
My favourite bits about camp was the Nerf Gun War because Nerf Guns
are one of my favourite toys.
My second favourite thing was the Emoji Movie. My third was playing
Minigolf because I played with friends and my other favourite thing was
ten pin bowling because I almost got a strike and it was funny.
By Riley
My favourite activity on camp was Mini Golf
because I was good at hitting the golf ball. I
was in a group with Mrs Turner and Char-
lotte. Mrs Turner won but not by much. My
second favourite activity was swimming at
Aquazone because it was pretty fun and
they turned on the sprinkler and water
fountains. My third favourite activity was
Nerf Gun War because I shot some people
but it backfired in the end because I got shot
on the nostril. I learnt about the olden days
and how they went to school. By Luke
Warrnambool Camp 2017
As Term 4 begins, just a friendly reminder that students need to wear a broad brimmed or bucket hat (no caps) whenever playing outside of the designated shaded areas. Please label hats so that they are easier to trace back to the owner.
Also, if your child has sensitive skin and cant use our Sunscreen brand, please ensure that they have some of their own in their school bag.
Tennis with Vanessa!
This term we will be partaking in tennis as part of our Active After School program. Tennis will begin Tues-day 17th October.
Thank you must go to Vanessa for offering this oppor-tunity to our students!
The last weekend of the school holidays proved to be yet another
successful Apsley Alive event! It is fantastic for a small community such
as Apsley to have the support and enthusiasm to host such a spectacular
event! The Apsley Alive weekend provided endless fun for all ages and
drew a large crowd into the area. Thank you to all families who partook
in the Apsley Primary School and Apsley Alligator joint float for the
street parade! Everyone looked fantastic and put on a great show, and we were lucky enough to be crowned
winners of the 2017 Apsley Alive best float competition! Take a look at some
of our outfits!
