What a positive end to another amazing year! Once
again Peg’s put on an incredible show last
Wednesday night at the new REAP Venue. Thanks to
all our families for helping to make the night a special
celebration. The costumes, props and support is very
much appreciated. Our Movies theme this year
certainly kept the toes tapping!
Staff Farewells
It is that difficult time of year when we farewell part of
our school team, our dear friends and colleagues. Mrs
Danielle Halliwell, Mr Ryan Young and Miss Amanda
Oakley. Thank goodness for the internet, we know
we’ll stay in touch! We wish them all the very best and
thank them for their contribution to our great school.
Proposed Class Structure 2019
Class lists and appointment of teachers is still being
finalised for 2019. Staff have met to commence class
placements. This is done with attention to each of your
child’s academic, social and emotional needs. Parent
requests have been considered where possible.
Class lists will be made available on Friday 1 February
from 8.00am on the Breakfast Club windows. Class
placements will not be given out over the phone.
If you are leaving our school at the end of the year,
please make sure you have informed the Front Office.
We wish you all the best in your move to a new school.
Happy Holidays!
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all my
incredible staff for their ongoing hard work,
commitment and enthusiasm throughout the year.
Have a safe and happy holiday with your family and
friends. Travel safely if you are planning to travel and
we look forward to seeing you all back ready to start
on Monday 4 February 2019.

Play Pod
Peg’s Creek will be continuing with our very successful
Play Pod in 2019. A Play Pod is a collection of clean
scrap items from home, businesses and offices that
the students can use for creative play. This type of play
provides a greater range of flexibility, diversifying its
appeal to children.
Early in 2019 we will be asking for suitable “scrap” to
be bought into the school to fill our Play Pod. We are
interested in clean and safe materials that can be used
in a creative or play context. Examples of suitable
“scrap” include containers, boxes, buckets, crates,
barrels, drums, tubes, plastic piping (all sizes &
lengths), wheels & tyres (all sizes), dress-up clothes,
material (think tent size), rope, netting, wooden off-
cuts, anything with wheels (chairs, trolleys, etc). The
stranger, exotic and unusual the “scrap” the better, so
start collecting!

SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS APPEAL
This year, the Peg's Creek Primary School
community elected to be a part of the Salvation Army
Christmas Appeal. We asked for donations of non
persishable grocieries and Christmas items. Last week
we presented our collected goods to the Salvation
Army Captain Lynn Boughton. She was extremley
impressed with the generosity of our school community
and wanted to ensure that everyone who donated be
thanked. The Salvation Army in Karratha delivered
over 100 hampers last year and couldn't do this without
community support. Well done Peg's Creek!
SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
Secondhand Uniforms
Are you leaving the school, or have some uniforms that
just don’t fit any more?
We would love them for our Breakfast Club. Often
students may come to school needing uniforms and
your donations would be greatly appreciated.
Year 6 Leavers Lunch
The Year 6 Leaver’s Lunch seemed very formal when
we first walked in on the red carpet. After the
introductions, speeches and a funny slideshow, it was
time to eat. The cake was delicious, the photo booth
was a definite highlight, and swimming in the pool with
all the other Year 6’s was SO MUCH FUN!!! Overall,
our Year 6 Leavers celebrations was a day to
remember, and we really appreciate all the hard work
that everyone put into it. Goodbye from the 2018 Year
6 class!

Exploring Together Several families have expressed their interest in being
part of the Exploring Together program for 2019. This
program has proven to be a success in identifying
strategies and an opportunity to talk about different
behaviours that make daily living a little trickier. The
strength of the program is about building
communication between you and your child to avoid
the ‘catastophes’ that occur. This is done by talking as
a parent group and a student group separately then
coming together to share an experience which is
usually through a game. Francesca de Bonis from
Yaandina will be back early next year at Peg’s Creek.
