A model Division II athletics programs is integral
to the educational mission of the institution, if
fully integrated as an athletics department in the
institution’s budget and management
operations, and is committed to the principle of
institutional control. A model Division II athletics
program should be an extension of the
educational mission of the institution and higher
education. A model athletics program is
committed to ensuring that student-athletes
learn in the classroom, on the field of play and
through the overall experience of being a college
