cultures, and languages. It’s a global hub exchanging information in real time;• With over one billion users, Facebook ranks as one

of the largest “countries” in the world. • With three key parts: personal profile, page

(corporate, organization or community) and groups. • Twitter comes with its own language,

communicating via “tweets”, “re-tweets”, “tweeps” and “hashtags”.

Benefits of Social Media

• Social media allows for equal level engagement grounds for all players.

• Social media allows for direct communication with the target audience in an informal setting.

• Social media allows the building of a relationship of trust and credibility with the target audience.

• After establishing a relationship with target audience, it allows for easy tracking of progress and impact.

• You can share journal articles, post scientific opinions, updates from conferences and meetings, and circulate information about research opportunities and upcoming events.

• Social media gives the potential for a wider reach of target audience.

social networking?• What are the social media habits of the target

audience?
