NIKE-PRINT ADVERT

What is the product? The product is Nike trainers

What are they advertising?Their name (brand) and the product (trainers)

What are they telling us about the product? It takes a lot to make them and are build to last, well

equipped/constructed

Is there a message in the advert? It takes a team to build some shoes/it takes more people to make shoes

that you think.

Who is the advert meant for?Anyone who is trendy/does sport

Do you think it reaches the correct target audience? No I don’t think it does because I think it makes the shoe look childish and

not directed to the correct audience.

What type of advert is it? I feel it is a humorous advert.

What do you think of the advert and do you think it works? I think it is a good advert however it doesn’t really sell the product, but

informs the target audience more about how it is made, plus the trainer

isn’t bold enough to be the main focus. The detail takes away the

seriousness of the shoe making it seem childish. Also a company like Nike

should be sleek, innovative and stylish, however I personally think the

advert is memorable so people should remember the product.

VOLVO-PRINT ADVERT

What is the product?Volvo

What are they advertising?Family car

What are they telling us about the product? It is a perfect car for all the family, and you can go on adventures

through far and wide with this vehicle.

Is there a message in the advert? You can have an adventure with the whole family and that the car is

‘family-friendly’. Volvo are a symbol of quality and safety, reassuring

the parents that the car will look after their family.

Who is the advert meant for?

Dads/mums with families.

Do you think it reaches the correct target audience?Yes, I think that the duck is effective as dads should understand the

reference to it through their day to day life of being a dad. You do not

expect to find a rubber duck in the wilderness, the same way you

would not expect a family car to go off-road.

What type of advert is it? It is fairly informative, humorous and surreal.

What do you think of the advert and do you think it works? The duck represents the family. This car is comfortable both on the

high streets, the countryside and extreme conditions. And the

background could help to demonstrate the car can go wide and far. I

think this advert works, it is memorable and demonstrates the quality

of the car through humour.

BMW-PRINT ADVERT

What is the product?BMW

What are they advertising?Their cars (Z3)

What are they telling us about the product? They are comparing their cars to a shark. Sharks are generally

associated with being at the top of a food chain, so therefore it is a

high quality car.

Is there a message in the advert?Yes-It’s a fierce, fast car (like a shark) and can get through traffic

easily.

Who is the advert meant for? Wealthy men/business men/car enthusiasts

Do you think it reaches the correct target audience?Yes because if they are rich they will be more likely to know about

these types of cars which is why they don’t require to include all the

additional information.

What type of advert is it? I think it is a surreal advert

What do you think of the advert and do you think it works?I think it works because the audience targeted will understand the

references whereas other markets wouldn’t. Also it is a clever

reference to a well-known animal. It has used the characteristics of

the shark to highlight the power and strength of the car

(zoomorphism).
