SITUATION

This outstanding house plot at the former Wolfhill Free Church is situated on the west edge of

the charming small village of Wolfhill and is surrounded by the beautiful Perthshire countryside

midway between the A93 Perth to Blairgowrie road and the A94 Perth to Forfar road. The village

of Guildtown is only 2 miles away where there is a pub and restaurant, garage and primary school.

Perth is approximately 8 miles away, Scone 7 miles, Blairgowrie 9 miles and Dundee is about 21

miles away. Dundee and Abertay Universities and Ninewells Hospital are all within easy commuting

distance.

Perth, known as - The Fair City’, is considered one of the most desirable Scottish cities in which

to live. Perth as well as the surrounding areas have many Museums, Theatres and galleries to

visit offering exciting programmes and exhibitions. There is also an excellent range of shops,

supermarkets and professional services and lies in a key geographical location, with motorway and

dual carriageway connections to all the major cities of central Scotland. Perth railway station has

frequent services to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness. Dundee Airport has

scheduled flights to London Stansted. Edinburgh Airport is about an hour’s drive away.

Recreational opportunities in the area are excellent. Scone Palace, one of Scotland’s finest stately

homes, is just outside Perth. There is National Hunt racing and polo at Scone, which also hosts the

Game Conservancy’s Scottish Fair in July. There are numerous good golf courses nearby, including

Murrayshall near Scone and Rosemount at Blairgowrie. The property is on the doorstep of the

Highlands with ample opportunities for hillwalking and, just to the north, skiing at Glenshee.

There are several primary schools nearby and four secondary schools in

Perth. There are also a good number of excellent private schools around

Perth, including Craigclowan Preparatory School, Strathallan, Glenalmond

and Kilgraston, and Dundee High School is within easy reach.

DIRECTIONS

From Perth take the A93 towards Blairgowrie. Travel about 6 miles and

enter the village of Guildtown. At the far end of the village take the right

fork signposted to Wolfhill. After a further 1 mile, turn right at the sign to

Wolfhill and after about half a mile Wolfhill Free Church is on the right

hand side of the road just as you enter the village.

For those using Sat Nav, the Post Code is PH2 6DA.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The plot was formerly part of the garden ground of Wolfhill House which

was a former manse. The United Free Church at Wolfhill, also sometimes

referred to as Cargill Free Church, was built in 1845 and its accompanying

manse in 1852. From a congregation of 360 in 1848 the building of a church

at Burrelton, and the depletion of the population, tended to reduce the

membership. By 1901 the congregation was listed being 201. After the local

union with Wolfhill, this church ceased to be used in 1948 and was sold.

All of the outer walls of the building remain but the roof was removed

many years ago. The building is not listed as being of architectural and

historic interest.

The ground around the former Church has

been well maintained and features a number

of very fine specimen trees including copper

beech trees. The plot is surrounded by a

mature beech and yew hedge.
