Engenium’s acoustic assessment and noise modelling capabilities will ensure your developments and processes meet or exceed their environmental compliance criteria.Engenium’s Process and Environment undertakings involve both greenfield design and upgrades to existing dust and fume collection systems, fully complying with Australian Standards.This has included hot off-gas collection and treatment, collected product recycling, and 100% fugitive emissions capture and clean plant design requirements.Our pneumatic design capability involves fit-for-purpose designs of both positive and negative pressure, and lean and dense phase conveying. A diverse range of products conveyed has included moist bulk pet foods, dry cereals, Ammonium Nitrate, petroleum coke and lead dust.When discussing your project requirements we will ensure your design parameters are defined and met, including strict product quality control, transfer rates, product breakage and contamination control.We have specialised scaled test rigs for bench testing of pneumatic conveying systems for a wide range of materials.

ProjectSnapshotsGraincorp, CarringtonAs an environmentally aware client, Graincorp asked us to assess and develop improvements and upgrades to their dust collection systems for their train unloader at Carrington Terminal.This project was successfully commissioned with a higher than expected reduction in fugitive grain dust.

Bluescope Steel, Port KemblaBluescope Steel are proactive with their approach to environmental issues.Engenium has undertaken a number of projects for Bluescope, including significant upgrades to both blast furnace, cast house and stock house dust and fume collection systems, sinter plant de-dusting and siuter cooling systems, as well as fume and off-gas improvement projects.

Chris Stevanov - Process EngineerChris has extensive experience in Process Design and Engineering and has worked on major projects across Australia. Chris is a Chemical Engineer with demonstrated knowledge in the fundamentals of managing and controlling multidisciplinary engineering projects in challenging environments. His experience is pertinent to the power generation, chemical and water sectors with his core competencies in fields of combustion and pyrolysis reactions, thermodynamical process, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer.Chris has diversified experience ranging from consulting on small and large scale projects, plant owner in heavy industry, to a scientist in R&D, and tutoring and guest lecturing at the University of Newcastle. Chris is also experienced in prefeasibility studies, HAZOP reviews, hazardous area assessments and is a published author in esteemed peer reviewed international journals.

Key EngeniumPersonnel

Julian Ellis - Specialist Process EngineerJulian is a Specialist Process Engineer with over 18 years consulting experience in fume and off-gas treatment, acoustics, coal processing and beneficiation. He has worked on both greenfields and browfields plants throughout Australia as well as in India, Chile, China and New Caledonia.Julian has experience in all aspects of coal washery design and plant materials handling infrastructure, along with environmental and occupational noise measurement, assessment, mitigation and noise propagation modelling. Other areas of experience include design, construction and commissioning of mechanical services. This experience incorporates a particular focus towards HVAC, natural and forced ventilation, as well as fume, off-gas and fugitive dust collection, and clean plant systems.
