PRODUCT CONCEPTION

Richard Grant Mouldings operates from a 20,000 sq.ft (1900m2) factory in Leighton Buzzard UK, which is approximately 35 miles (56 km) north of London and 10 miles (16 km) south of Milton Keynes. London Luton Airport is 12 miles (19 km) away and London Heathrow 35 miles (56 km).

RGM started business in the 1960s and during the previous 50 years has developed products for the automotive industry. The aerospace division of the company was opened 15 years ago and now represents more than 50% of the business.

Today RGM is a highly specialised moulding company which designs and manufactures a vast range of automobile accessories and aerospace products. A complete ‘in-house’ service is available and a new project can be undertaken from concept through to production in a matter of weeks. A ‘quick route to market’ being essential in today’s competitive market.

Aerospace DivisionFifteen years ago RGM ventured into the aerospace business, and today have over 6,000 part numbers on their 5 axis CNC machines. The products are developed for all sections of the aircraft interior. These products include food trays, trolley guards, video surrounds, arm rests, life jacket holders, centre consoles, first class beds and bases, seat dividers, side shrouds and emergency lighting covers. • Ultem• Aerform• Kydex• R57• Boltaron RGM supply the worlds leading aircraft manufacturers and operators, including Boeing Aircraft Corporation, Airbus Industries, British Airways, Air China, Emirates Airways, Korean Air, Cathay Pacific, Air France, Lufthansa, KLM, Malaysian Airways, Qatar Airways, and many more.

RGM manufactures products which are used on the latest Boeing Dreamliner and the Airbus A380 aircrafts.

Automotive DivisionToday’s car accessory market is totally different from the market of 50 years ago – having started with styling kits and numerous accessories today’s car manufacturers have improved the specification of their vehicles and it is now more difficult to bring new accessories to the market. RGM have overcome this problem by working closely with car manufacturers and importers. Rearguards are one of RGM’s recent new products which have been taken up by car manufacturers. There are now over 400 vehicle specific applications and new models are being introduced weekly. Four colour options are available, black, silver, carbon look and the latest a ‘brushed alloy ABS look’. Other body protection products under development include a large range of door sill protectors, wheel arch covers and PU body mouldings. Co-operation between RGM and Philips has resulted in a range of DRL kits (Daylight Running Lights) being developed, which are now available through car dealerships. RGM designs and manufactures products for many other companies who ‘own brand’ and then sell on into the market. These products include fan cowls, complete dashboards, roof consoles, lighting products, air conditioning covers for RAC vans, olympic bus sat.nav holders, battery covers and rally light retaining rings.

RGM also offer a CNC trimming service to other vacuumn forming companies who do not have their own 5 axis CNC facility.
