Proposed Upgrades & Operational Impacts

OPERATIONAL IMPACTS

• Allow units to operate in an IED/mine environment

• Increases suspension capacity to support protection/survivability enhancements

• Improved mobility, ride quality, and reliability

• ESC with the ABS increases safety and stability – modern commercial standard

1) Higher Capacity Suspension

• Front axle weight with future protection kits (underbody,

RPG, EFP) will exceed current axle rating by 5k lbs.

• Future suspension upgrades address weight capacity and

ride quality concerns

• Integrates Electronic Stability Control (ESC) into the

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)

2) Underbody Protection Kit (Design Modification)

• Kit designed and tested for current truck

• Meets current underbody threat requirements

3) Larger Tires / Higher Capacity Wheels

• Larger tires increase contact area, improve mobility

• Common tire in use on other systems

Proposed Upgrades & Operational Impacts

OPERATIONAL IMPACTS

• Supports C4ISR upgrades and Anti-IED technology

• Single-voltage 24V system will reduce complexity and simplify troubleshooting

• Supports embedded diagnostics and future implementation of Conditioned Based

Maintenance (CBM+)

4) Higher Output / 24V Alternator

• Increases power output (88 amps) over current alternator

• Single 24V alternator would simplify electrical system

• Would support future growth & current Capability Sets

5) Upgraded Data Bus

• Current instrument panel controls not integrated into data

bus, limiting troubleshooting and diagnostic capability

• Bring electrical system up to today’s standard

• Supports embedded diagnostics, future CBM+

6) Engine Power Increase

• Existing option to increase engine HP from 330 to 370

• Same option used on MATV
