DELTASCOPE® FMP10 and FMP30ISOSCOPE® FMP10 and FMP30DUALSCOPE® FMP20 and FMP40The FMP hand-held instruments measure coating thick-nesses non-destructively with high precision. Magnetic induction (DELTA), eddy current (ISO) or both methods (DUAL). They are modern, robust and user-friendly and can be adapted to any measuring application using interchangeable probes.

FMP10 and FMP20 are entry level models for profes-sional evaluation of coatings, ideal for repetitive meas-uring applications.

FMP30 and FMP40 feature additional strategies for measurement capture, more memory and extensive graphical and statistical evaluation capabilities.

DUALSCOPE® FMP100 Most advanced in the FMP family, this device offers an extremely user-friendly operation, a high-resolution color touch screen and the WindowsTM CE operating system. The DUALSCOPE® FMP100 is a universal solu-tion, using magnetic induction and the eddy current methods.

The DUALSCOPE® FMP100 is ideal for different meas-urement applications because settings and calibrations can be stored and recalled right on the display.

In addition to extensive evaluation and statistics func-tions, the FMP100 offers flexible graphical presenta-tions of the measurement data. An innovative tool for quality control, the FDD®-Software (Factory Diagnosis Diagram) is integrated.

It is ideal for precise and non-destructive coating thickness measurements, using the magnetic induction or eddy current method.MP0R additionally with radio and USB interface. MP0R-FP with radio, USB and permanently connected cable probe.

SR-SCOPE® RMP30-S Copper coating thickness on pc-boards is determined in a non-destructive fashion via the electrical resist-ance. Ideal for multi-layers and thin laminates because there is no influence from covered coatings or coat-ings on the opposite side.

COULOSCOPE® CMS®

CMS instruments measure nearly all metallic coatings – in particular also multi-coatings – on any substrate material with high precision. They work in a destruc-tive manner by deplating using coulometric methods.

CMS® STEP is for standard-conforming STEP test meas-urements of individual coatings and potential differ-ences, e.g., for multi-nickel-coatings.

PHASCOPE® PMP10The PMP10 measures non-destructively using the phase-sensitive eddy current test method. It is suited for non-ferrous coatings on steel or non-ferromagnetic substrate materials as well as nickel coatings on steel. It is also ideal for the measurement of zinc on iron and for determining the copper plating thickness in holes of pc-boards. The PMP10 DUPLEX additionally measures and dis-plays individual layers of duplex coatings simultane-ously in one measurement step. It is ideally suited to measure the paint and zinc layers on steel or paint on aluminum.

FISCHERSCOPE® MMS® The first generation multi-measurement system for non-destructive coating thickness measurements and mate-rials testing. Depending on the requirements, the MMS can be equipped with different module boards and fitting probes and is thus available for many different applications.

Depending on the configuration, it can measure coat-ing thicknesses, electrical conductivity and ferrite con-tent. The following measurement methods are avail-able: Eddy current, magnetic or magnetic induction as well as the electrical resistance method.

Appropriately equipped, the MMS can also be con-figured as the MMS PCB, specifically for determining copper coatings and other electroplated coatings on pc-boards.

Using the BETASCOPE® module the thicknesses of organic and metallic coatings can be determined according to the beta backscatter method on various substrate materials. Even soft layers as well as oil and lubricating films can be determined with the appropri-ate probe.

FISCHERSCOPE® MMS® PC2The second generation multi-measurement system with integrated Windows™ CE and network capability. It features a large, high-resolution color touch screen as well as LAN and USB ports. It is ideally suited for non-destructive and high-precision coating thickness meas-urements and materials testing.

The modular design of the MMS PC2 allows for indi-vidual instrument configurations. It can be retrofit-ted at any time. Numerous modules and probes are available for this purpose. Similar to the MMS, differ-ent measurement methods can be employed. Coating thicknesses of almost all materials on metals can be measured as well as metallic coatings on electrically non-conducting materials. It is also possible to deter-mine the electrical conductivity of non-ferrous metals and the ferrite content in austenitic or duplex steel.

The MMS PC2 is versatile in its application, in incom-ing inspection, in the final inspection or in production. Integrated in the manufacturing process, the MMS PC2 offers extensive measurement data presentation capabilities as well as the Fischer FDD software for continuous quality and process monitoring. Automatic measurement runs can be realized easily because a motor-driven support stand or an XY measuring stage can be controlled directly.

Whether high-precision coating thickness measure-ments or exact materials analysis, the broad assort-ment of Fischer X-ray fluorescence spectrometers offers the optimal instrument for any application. In addi-tion to many innovations and patents, the FISCHER-SCOPE X-RAY product line incorporates nearly 30 years of experience and continued development.

The determination of single or multiple coatings on the smallest structures and on large components, trace analysis required by RoHS, testing of jewelry and gold or inline measurements in continuous produc-tion – FISCHERSCOPE X-RAY instruments satisfies the requirements in the laboratory and in manufacturing.

The controlling intelligence of these instruments is called WinFTM®. It makes operation easy and sets the standards in functional diversity, speed and pre-cision.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY XUL®

The models of the XUL series are compact x-ray fluo-rescence spectrometers for coating thickness measure-ments and materials analyses. The x-ray source and the detector are located underneath the measurement chamber. This allows for simple and precise position-ing of the specimens.

The XUL instruments are suited for measurements of small parts with different shapes, such as screws, bolts or nuts, for contacts and other electronic components. The metal content of electroplating baths can be ana-lyzed quickly and easily.

The XULM® with micro focus tube is designed for measurements on very small parts, plug contacts and wires. It also includes four motor-adjustable apertures and three different primary filters for optimal measure-ment sensitivity. It is particularly well suited for the jew-elry and watch industries but also for manual measure-ments on pc-boards.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY XDL®-B The XDL-B instruments are designed for measurements of electroplated coatings on individual and mass-pro-duced parts as well as for the analysis of electroplat-ing baths. The main area of application is the meas-urement of corrosion protection coatings and decora-tive coatings such as chrome on nickel/copper.

Due to its modular design, the XDL-B series can be equipped with different XY stages and Z axes. The easily accessible measurement chamber allows for the measurement of large specimens with irregular surface contours.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY XAN®

The XAN instruments are user-friendly X-ray fluores-cence spectrometers with semiconductor detectors. By placing the X-ray source and the detector underneath the measurement chamber, the objects to be measured can be positioned easily and precisely directly on the support area.

The XAN-FD features a fast pulse processor and can process high count rates.

The XAN-DPP with a digital pulse processor achieves a better repeatability precision in the same measuring time.

The XAN 120 is specifically optimized for non-destruc-tive analyses of jewelry, coins and precious metals.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY XDLM®

The XDLM instruments with micro focus tube and pro-portional counter tube are ideally suited for the inspec-tion of parts where small structures are measured. Typi-cal applications are measurements on pc-boards, plug contacts and electronic components. XDLM instruments are equipped with four exchangeable apertures and a programmable XY(Z) measuring stage. This makes them ideally suited for testing mass-produced parts.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY XDAL®

The XDAL instruments with silicon PIN detectors pro-vide reliable analysis results and coating thickness readings even with small concentrations and very thin coatings. With their fast and highly precise XY(Z) measuring stage, they are ideally suited for automated sample measurements.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY XDV®-SDThe XDV-SD is ideally suited for the determination of very thin coatings and for trace analyses. For meas-urements on pc-boards, according to RoHS and WEEE requirements, as well as for the analysis of gold and precious stones.

It is equipped with the high-resolution silicon semicon-ductor detector and is, therefore, suitable for the ele-ment range from Al (13) to Uranium (92). With the electric quadruple aperture changer, 6 primary filters and a fast, programmable XY(Z) stage, it is universally applicable. Ideal for the electronics and electroplating industries.

The XDVM®-P with proportional counter tube is tai-lored to the requirements of process analytics.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY XDV®-µThrough the innovative poly-capillary optics and the high-resolution silicon semiconductor detector, the XDV-μ instruments are ideally suited for analyses and coat-ing thickness measurements on the smallest parts and structures, for example on pc-boards, contacts or lead frames.

The measurement sensitivity can be adapted optimally to the application through the changeable quadruple primary filter.

Even grid measurements can be realized easily due to the fast and precise XY(Z) measuring stage.

A modern silicon drift detector (SDD) with an energy resolution of better than 140 eV guarantees high analysis accuracy as well as good detection sen- sitivity.

The XUV 773 is predestined for measurements and analyses of thin coatings and is, therefore, ideally suited for quality assurance and production optimiza- tion. Typical areas of use are the analyses of functional coatings in the electronics and semiconductor indus-tries but also of gold, jewelry and precious stones. In particular for the analysis of precious stones, it guaran-tees that no changes occur in the examined samples.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY XUV® 773The XUV 773 is a very universal energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer. It is particularly well suited for the non-destructive analysis of thin coatings, traces and light elements. It can detect up to 24 elements in the range from sodium (11) to uranium (92) simultaneous-ly. The analysis can be performed in ambient air, in helium or in vacuum, such that even organic or moist samples can be measured.

It is equipped with four changeable apertures and six primary filters. In this manner, it is ideally suited for complex measurement applications. A precise deter- mination of the measurement location is very easy due to the integrated, programmable X/Y/Z stage with a high-resolution video camera.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY Conti 5000The Conti 5000 series is specifically designed for the requirements in the solar industry and measures in the air or in vacuum, at room temperatures or at very hot surfaces. For a high energy resolution, these instru-ments are equipped with a silicon PIN detector.

As a compact measuring head, the Conti 5000 is designed for integration into production systems and is very flexible in its application.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY ContiThe Conti instruments are X-ray spectrometers for con-tinuous coating thickness measurements and analyses in running industrial manufacturing processes.

FISCHERSCOPE® X-RAY Conti 4000The Conti 4000 is the ideal model series when meas-urements are to be made at several locations or when the measuring head is to travel automatically and pre-cisely. For this purpose, the Conti 4000 is equipped with a fast travel device.

Conti 4000 instruments measure on a small measure-ment spot and are, therefore, suited for high volume and stamping parts with small structures but also for coated strips and foils.

Materials Testing

Material failure can have severe consequenc-es. For this reason, materials and their process-ing must be tested for their safety, reliability and longevity.

The measurement technology of Fischer is sought-after and proven when the quality of weld seams is measured in steel constructions or the sealing is determined on anodized façades. This is also true when the coatings are tested on tanks or airplane aluminum structures for fatigue.

FERITSCOPE® FMP30 A compact instrument for a standard-conforming, non-destructive determination of the ferrite content in auste-nitic welded products and in duplex steel. Using the magnetic induction method, the ferrite content can be measured on site easily and quickly between 0.1 and 80 % Fe or in the ferrite number range from 0.1 to 110 FN.

SIGMASCOPE® SMP10For the measurement of the electrical conductivity of non-ferrous metals or non-magnetizable metals such as aluminum, copper and stainless steel according to the eddy current method. In addition, the hardness and strength of heat-treated materials as well as heat dam-age and material fatigue can be determined.

ANOTEST® YMP30-S The YMP30-S is used for sealing tests of anodic coat-ings on aluminum. It measures the admittance accord-ing to standard, and due to its compact design is ide-ally suited for onsite applications.

POROSCOPE® HV20To find pores and trouble spots, cracks and embedded foreign objects in linings and coatings made of enam-el, paint and bitumen, also in containers made of GFK or other plastics. The HV20D is also suited to test mate-rials that easily obtain an electrostatic charge.

Micro Hardness Measurement

Product Overview

The high demands of today’s surface technol-ogy – very hard, very thin or visco-elastic – require correspondingly powerful measurement methods and systems.

In the nanometer range, the Fischer micro hardness measuring instruments are capable of making quick, precise and effective meas-urements where classic measurement methods reach their limits.

PICODENTOR® HM500 The HM500 can determine the Martens hardness HM, elastic characteristics and material parameters accord-ing to the instrumented indentation test – even in the nanometer range.

The high-precision distance resolution in the picometer range and the load generation down to a few micro-Newton allows for the characterization of ultra-thin coatings or surface areas with regard to their mechan-ical properties.

Nano coatings on sensors, protective coatings on glass, and coatings on data carriers, ion-implanted surfaces and matrix effects in alloys are among the typical applications of the HM500.

The programmable XY stage for probe positioning, the active vibration absorption table and the closed meas-urement chamber make the HM500 versatile both in the lab and in the production.

MICROHARDNESS

FISCHERSCOPE® HM2000 User-friendly and powerful measurement systems for the precise determination of the micro hardness, elas-ticity or the visco-elastic behavior of materials operate according to the load/indentation depth method.

As a support stand model, the HM2000 S is an entry level instrument for micro hardness measurement and is very well suited for specimens with simple position-ing.

The HM2000 XYm with a manual positioning device and the HM2000 XYp with a programmable XY-stage for fully automatic positioning are available for higher demands on the positioning capability of the speci-mens. Systems for vibration absorption and various positioning devices are available for all versions of the instruments.
