more than 25 years. Both have the ambition in

common to offer their customers the best

possible solutions through innovations and

technical farsightedness. No matter if it is snow

clearing or maize harvest: CLAAS and Schmidt

are constantly working on the development of

optimal machines that allow the users to render

their daily work successfully, efficiently and

safely.

This ambition is now carried forward in another

cooperation, in which the core competencies

are bundled. The result is high-quality Schmidt

attachments for the municipal area that are

exactly adapted to the performance parameters

of CLAAS tractors: all this from one source and

with only one contact partner for all questions.

CLAAS

Seed green is more than just a colour

Wherever people in this world sow, plant,

fertilise, tend and harvest, CLAAS is there.

Efficient harvesters, tractors, telescope loaders

and management systems are of assistance

to farmers along the entire process chain. The

traditional core products of the company include

combine harvesters, forage harvesters and

machines for the grass harvest. Every fifth

combine harvester and every second forage

harvester worldwide comes from CLAAS.

Since the acquisition of Renault Agriculture in

2003, CLAAS has also been offering a complete

tractor portfolio. All production series have been

modified and the range of services and equip-

ment has been considerably extended. In

addition, new tractor models have been

developed, which set new trends in many fields

of application. The preliminary highlight of the

CLAAS tractor innovation campaign is the market

launch of the XERION 5000 large tractors with an

engine output of more than 500 HP.

However, the brand CLAAS is more than just

adding up technology and agricultural know-how.

Besides the leading technical position, CLAAS’s

overall concept also includes the consistent

support of customers through the CLAAS

partners and the CLAAS service network. Giving

the customer this degree of safety is the reason

Schmidt

A quality label on all traffic ways

The striking blue lettering of Schmidt has been

synonymous with safe traffic ways for more than

90 years. Wherever people take off or land with

an airplane, steer a lorry or school bus or travel by

car with their families, Schmidt contributes to

safe traffic conditions. Snow ploughs, snow

cutters and blowers, spreaders, sweepers, road

repair vehicles as well as satellite-based route

management support municipalities, municipal

service providers and airports in rendering their

work: throughout all seasons.

Since the merger of Aebi and Schmidt in 2007

under the roof of the Swiss Aebi Schmidt

Holding, Schmidt has put even more focus on

innovation and technical development. The new

high-performance snow blower TS 10000 for

airports is a proof of this strategy and additionally

an example for a successful cooperation: the

basis of this powerhouse awarded with a design

prize has been developed in cooperation with

CLAAS.

Schmidt regards itself as the partner of its

customers. This not only includes the develop-

ment and optimisation of machines and tools

but also the extensive support - from the advance

consultation concerning financing aids through

maintenance up to the service through the

worldwide Schmidt service network.

Single-blade snow plough

The single-blade FLL is perfectly suited for

small to medium quantities of snow in narrow

or limited areas. Due to the curvature of the

blade, it has a short snow ejection, which is

necessary in urban areas. The ploughs are

equipped with a spring-loaded override system

and can be swiveled to the right or left.

The spring-loaded snow plough has been

specially designed for use on narrow track

utility vehicles, municipal compact vehicles

or tractors, but even off-road vehicles or pick-

up trucks can be fitted with the very flexible

FLL which is available in five different sizes.

The CPL is optimised for aggressive clearing of

medium and large quantities of snow in towns

and public areas. These single-blade snow

ploughs are also equipped with the tried and

tested CP deviation system.

Due to the curvature of the blade, the CPL has

a snow ejection that handles larger quantities

of snow. The constant position snow plough

can be set precisely and in a user-friendly way

for any area and use; the positioning angle of

the CPL can be adjusted infinitely to the right

or the left. The plough can be run with cutting

edges made of steel or rubber; the three point

lifting mechanism allows you to change

devices in minutes.

Single-blade snow ploughs

SNK 18 / 21


The SNK has been specially designed for

clearing wet snow and slush: the light,

self-supporting plough blade from the SNK range

is made of polymer and is therefore corrosion

and maintenance-free. The SNK can be used

at lower altitudes with lower heights of snow. It

provides an all-round service both in urban areas

and country roads.

The SNK's self-supporting plough blade is

cushioned against vibration, sitting in a

diagonally braced steel frame. The closed

form of the blade, which has been designed

specially for clearing wet snow, means that

additional snow deflectors are unnecessary. The

perfectly matched geometry of the blade, cutting

edge and blade angle ensure optimum snow

ejection, regardless of the consistency and

quantity of snow being cleared.

CP 2 / 3


The CP is a torsion-resistant constant position

snow plough for snow clearing in towns and

municipal areas as well as on country roads.

Its robust design and the high restoring force

of its steel cutting edge allow for more aggres-

sive snow clearance. This becomes necessary if

the amount of spreading salt is reduced for

economical and ecological reasons. The CP can

also be fitted with a rubber cutting edge and

operated in floating position.

Another advantage: The special blade design

and the large blade angle guarantee the

complete removal of snow with short deposit

times at low clearing speeds. At faster clearing

speeds, there is a wider distribution of

snow - almost without any walls of snow on

the roadsides occuring.

Tarron MS 30.1 / 32.1

Multi-blade snow plough

The robust multi-blade snow ploughs from the

Tarron series fulfils the highest snow clearance

requirements, and are therefore particularly

suited to use in mountainous areas where the

largest quantities of snow are to be found. Even

compacted or frozen snow poses no problem

for the Tarron plough.

The Tarron impresses with its aggressive

clearance and large ejection range. Despite

the fact that they are very robust, the snow

ploughs run extremely quietly thanks to the

polyurethane attenuators. In order to guarantee

optimum drive, each of the blade segments

has four rigid steering arms. The torsion proof

arms sit in holders equipped with polyurethane

bushing: this also contributes to noise

reduction as well as the plastic blade stops

on each blade segment.

In combination with the shock absorbers,

the blade segments can swerve when meeting

obstacles, meaning that damage is not

possible.

A strong blade retaining spring brings the

segments back into the clearing position after

driving over obstacles on the ground. Two

powerful, double-action swiveling cylinders are

used for switching sides; these position the

Tarron in the required clearing position back-

lash-free. The snow plough lifting system allows

tension-free lifting and lowering of the plough.

The Tarron range is equipped with a height

adjustable implement plate, meaning that

attachment to different vehicle plates is

possible.

Powerfully targets even compacted snow

and ice.

The individual spring-loaded blades enable

aggressive snow clearance. The individual

suspension ensures that the blade segments

can be flexibly adapted to uneven parts in the

road. Together with the optimum geometry

of the blade/cutting edge, this ensures

very clean clearing characteristics and an

outstanding clearing pattern. Furthermore

the blades are elevated on the outside in a

streamlined manner to provide considerably

better snow ejection.

With the multi-blade Tarron Compact, Schmidt

has developed a new plough. This very efficient

plough can be attached to narrow track utility

vehicles and small tractors. Its extraordinary

clearing characteristics are particularly

showcased when clearing even larger

quantities of snow from roads, car parks, work

areas or private land. In order to avoid damage

to materials or the road, the competitively

priced Tarron Compact is also equipped with a

flexible diversion system.

Cirron SL 27 / 30 / 32


The three to four-blade snow ploughs of the

Cirron series are designed for the challenging

clearance of larger quantities of snow at

medium altitudes. Flexible blade guiding allows

outstanding adjustment to the road; obstacles

on the ground are automatically avoided. The

flexible spring-loaded steering arms and the use

of many plastic parts also ensure smooth and

quiet running.

The Cirron really comes into its own when used

frequently to clear town roads and rural main

roads. Curbstone deflectors prevent the plough

from damage by scraping against kerbs and

corners when clearing in town centres. When

in use, both swiveling cylinders ensure a safe

switching of sides. The patented snow plough

lifting system allows for tension-free lifting

and lowering of the snow plough.

The relevant implement plate of the plough is

height adjustable for optimum positioning of the

Cirron on various vehicle plates.

PV 26-3

Swiveling arm snow plough

The swiveling arm snow ploughs of the PV

series are ideally suited to use on country, district

and state roads. The ploughs come with either

three or four blades and with an adjustable

swiveling stop of 30°-36°.

The swiveling arm creates a very exact

adjustment to any road surface. The result?

Extraordinary clearing results with a considerable

reduction in the use of salt, a significant drop in

noise as well as the protection of the driver and

vehicle from shocks and impact when driving

over obstacles.

The low-maintenance, robust PV plough can be

used with any type of snow and on any type of

road for clearing right down to the black or for

leaving a specific amount of white. Both the

Cirron and PV ploughs allow easy assembly and

quick changing of cutting edges.

Wedge snow plough

The KL-V is a smooth-running, low-noise, low-

maintenance wedge snow plough with two

blade wings, which can be used as wedge,

V-shaped or one-sided snow plough. This

flexibility makes it a multi-purpose snow

plough, since it is ideal for a great variety of

clearing tasks.

It also efficiently copes with bikeways and

walkways, but also pavements, parking bays or

narrow lanes with varying widths - by removing

or pushing together snow. Furthermore, the

two blade wings can be infinitely swivelled and

thus allow for flexibly responding to the

respective clearing situation.

The further advantages of the KL-V wedge

snow plough include its stable design and the

override system that prevents the blades from

being damaged by obstacles by folding them

back. In addition, deflectors welded onto the

sides prevent damage to both the plough and

the brickwork while clearing along walls and

buildings.

Wedge snow plough

The special snow ploughs in the VP series

also comprise of two blade wings and can

be used to form wedge, V-shape or one-sided

snow ploughs. The VP is developed for the

Scandinavian market and is therefore designed

specially for clearing large quantities of snow.

The construction and design of the VP wedge

snow plough in Swedish quality steel also

ensures considerable stability. Also on the

VP wedge snow ploughs, both blade wings can

be swiveled infinitely, creating a lot of flexibility

for optimum clearance.

Each blade is equipped with a deviation system

which helps avoid damage caused by obstacles

on the ground. Generously sized hydraulic

cylinders with overload protection allow for

infinite adjustment. The VP series snow ploughs

have been specially developed for attachment

onto wheel loaders and tractors.

Attachable snow cutter blower

The stable construction of the FS snow cutter

blower is designed for extreme conditions and

use in your whole municipal winter service. It

was developed for the efficient front-on clearing

of high, hard and frozen snow; even the removal

of walls of snow caused by clearing using snow

ploughs is no problem. The snow cutter blowers

can even tackle snow heights of more than

1,000 mm. In order to deal with even heavy

loads, the machines of the FS series are manu-

factured using high-quality material. The snow is

collected by the open cutting drums, taken to the

blower wheel and then ejected through the

chute, which can be turned by 275° using

hydraulics. Due to the high collection speed of

the blower wheel, very large ejection distances

and optimum distribution of the cleared snow is

achieved.

Thanks to varying clearing performance and

widths, the robust FS snow cutter blowers cover

a wide range of requirements. Here, you have va-

rious kinds of drum and blower wheel diameters.

The snow cutter blower is mounted onto carrier

vehicles that are equipped with front or rear PTO

shafts.

Towed spreaders

Both abrasive gritting materials and dry and wet

salt can be spread by means of the Stratos

towed spreaders. They are available in sizes

ranging from 0.8 m3 to 1.5 m3. The towed

spreaders are driven by the tractor's drive shaft.

The spreading materials are transported to the

stainless steel spreading disc by the reliable

conveyor belt system. The spreading width

can be set between 1 and 6 m. The towed

spreader can also be loaded with wet salt.

This reduces the amount of damage to the

environment and makes for excellent cost-

effectiveness. The towed spreaders are

controlled by one of the two operating systems

CX or CL - of course also directly and easily

from the driver's seat.

Attachable spreaders

The Traxos attachable spreader has been

specifically designed for de-icing municipal

areas and offers the following advantages: It

can be rapidly mounted and filled and, above all,

it is easy to operate. Since both abrasive

gritting material as well as dry and wet salt can

be used with the Traxos, it is extremely versatile

in application.

The Traxos needs no individual drive, as it is

directly powered by the tractor´s hydraulic

system. The gritting material slips safely to the

bottom of the V-shaped hopper, from there onto

the open screw conveyer and the spreading

disc made of V2A stainless steel. The spreading

range between 2.0 and 6.0 m as well as sprea-

ding density of thawing materials between

5 g/m2 and 40 g/m2 and of abrasive materials

between 40 g/m2 und 300 g/m2 can be infinitely

adjusted. This can be done by manual override

or by means of the CX control panel from

within the driver’s cab.

The Traxos works completely road speed

related and has a closed-loop control system.

This ensures exact dosage in all conditions.

The optional brine tank is made of impact-proof po-

lyethylene (PE), is equipped with a level indicator

and has a capacity of 430 l. The integrated brine

pump exhibits a dry-run protection and works with

automatic speed reduction when spreading wet

salt.

In terms of environmental protection and sustainability, preventive de-icing is increasingly gaining

significance. Using a towed or attachable spreader or sprayer by Schmidt, this trend is met in a

reasonable way.

RSP 1-S

Attachable sprayer

The compact RSP 1-S helps you to take efficient

actions against imminent formation of icy

surfaces - this means, before incalculable risks

can develop on alleys, roads and open spaces.

The sprayer can, however, also be used if icy

surfaces have already developed. The RSP 1-S

does not need its own drive, because it is

driven by the tractor's hydraulic system.

The brine tank is made of shock-resistant

polyethylene (PE), is equipped with a level

gauge and comprises 650 l of brine. The

spraying liquid is spread very evenly by a special

spraying disc mounted at the rear of the

sprayer.

Spraying widths ranging from 3.0 to 8.0 m and

spraying dosages ranging from 10 g/m² to

60 g/m² can be infinitely adjusted. This can

be done both manually by emergency manual

operation and from the tractor's cabin via the

CL control panel.

Since the attachable sprayer is driven by the

vehicle's hydraulic system, the RSP 1-S's

operation is completely road speed related. The

closed circuits ensure exact dosage in any

circumstance.

CSP 1100

Towed sprayer

The CSP 1100 is a compact sprayer mounted

on a trailer, primarily designed for preventive

de-icing operations in urban areas. Its advan-

tage: It can be filled in advance so that it is

ready for operation at any time.

Equipped with a spraying bar located directly

above the road, the CSP 1100 always produces

an even spraying pattern over the entire width

of maximum 3,400 mm. The CSP 1100 sprays

either symmetrically over a width of 1,400 mm

or alternatively asymmetrically over 2,400 mm

to the left or the right. The control system is in-

tegrated into the driver’s cab.

The dosage can be gradually adjusted between

20 and 40 g/m2. The tank has a capacity of

1,100 l. The gross weight of the CSP 1100

Towed sweepers

The Wasa 300+ is an efficiently operating,

environmentally friendly towed sweeper with

mechanical dirt collection. It exhibits a large

stainless steel hopper of 3.0 m3 capacity and

separate water tanks. With its sweeping width

of 2,400 mm and its low-noise and low-dust

operation, the Wasa 300 is ideal for cleaning

urban streets and towns.

The Wasa 300+ is equipped with two side

brushes that convey the debris to the cross

brush at the rear of the machine. A generously

dimensioned elevator subsequently transports

the collected debris to the hopper. The

Wasa 300+ towed sweeper carries up to

1,100 l of water, so that the dust can be bound

prior to sweeping. Due to its design, the towed

sweeper is easily accessible and can thus ea-

sily be cleaned and maintained.

All functions are controlled over a control panel

from within the tractor´s cabin. The hydraulic

system of the Wasa 300+ is driven by the

tractor’s PTO.

STREET CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Clean streets are not only important because of the visual appearance: this is the only way to

ensure that e.g. the rain can run off without obstructions. Schmidt sweepers are solid workers that

offer the appropriate solution for any type of dirt.

SMTH 070 and SMTH 150

Towed sweepers

SMTH sweepers are extremely flexible and

easy-to-use machines which can work optimally

even with little space available. Thanks to the

low background noise, they are optimally suited

for the use in residential and municipal areas.

SMTH sweepers are available in two sizes: The

SMTH 070 features a 700 l hopper made

of steel and the SMTH 150 features a 1,500 l

hopper made of steel. The water tanks are

arranged centrally for equal weight distribution.

SMTH towed sweepers carry along 200 l and

500 l of water, respectively, so that dust can be

bound effectively before sweeping.

The debris is swept to the middle by both disc

brushes. The roller brush located behind the

axle throws the debris into the flat and ample

hopper. The maximum sweeping width is

1,900 mm for SMTH 070 and 2,200 mm for

SMTH 150, respectively.

SMTH sweepers are driven by the tractor PTO

shaft. Alternatively, the SMTH 070 can also be

driven by the power hydraulic system of the

towing vehicle.

Of course, all functions are operated via an

intuitive control panel from the driver's cab of

the tractor.

Attachable sweeper

The LKS 18 is an attachable sweeper with an

open front design, developed to eliminate

coarse dirt on small and medium-sized spaces.

Various brush sets - including one against

snow - make the LKS to an all-year, all-weather

machine.

A hydraulic swivelling cylinder enables the

LKS 18 to steplessly sweep to the left, to the

right or straight ahead. An elastic windshield,

clamped in place by a steel spring, prevents

debris from being catapulted away even

when operating at peak capacity. Any road

unevenness is automatically compensated for

by a self-aligning bearing with nylon runners.

The LKS 18 is a robust, low-maintenance

sweeper, equipped with the hollow brush

supporting frame developed by Schmidt. This

means that the hydraulic engine for powering

the cross brush is accommodated inside the

cross brush. Due to this compact design, the

LKS 18 achieves excellent results even when

sweeping directly along walls or buildings.

The sweeper stands secure and ready-

for-operation through three storage legs.

Furthermore, the height-adjustable castor

wheels are thus relieved from load when not in

use.

Attachable sweeper

The VKS is a front-mounted sweeper for the

easy and rapid removal of coarse dirt on large

surfaces. The VKS has an open design, is

extremely robust and requires especially little

maintenance.

A height-adjustable dirt collection flap, with an

extra dirt collection cloth, prevents debris

from being catapulted away, even at high

performance levels. The VKS has a central

support frame made of torsion-resistant square

tube. Height-adjustable wheels guarantee the

correct and individual amount of brush contact

pressure.

Due to its design and the possibility to select

various brush sets, the VKS is suitable for more

than just summer cleaning. It can clean lightly

snow-covered areas in winter with ease. The

hydraulic engine for powering the cross brush is

located in the interior of the cross brush. Thanks

to this compact design, the operator has an

unrestricted view of his vehicle. Thus, the VKS

achieves excellent results also when working

directly along walls or buildings, since no

components protrude to the side.

Reflector post washer

We have also designed the reflector post

washer RPS-H in close coordination with users

- the innovative machine therefore has intelli-

gent details which makes it extremely flexible

and particularly convenient thanks to its simple

operation.

The easily mountable cantilever arm has a

design which enables problem-free adjustment

to any relevant working angle enabling

completely automatic cleaning of even the

most difficult to reach reflector posts.

Furthermore, the working device is positioned

laterally at the front, whereby an excellent view

is guaranteed in any situation and the brushes

can be put into the best working position both

quickly and easily.

So that the brushes do not touch the ground

and thereby swirl up dirt, a modern automatic

touch system is integrated which is reliably

activated just before touching the ground. The

water supply only operates when the brushes

are turning, the maximum attainable water

saving effect is consequently guaranteed.
