Its basic designhas had over 15 years of successfuloperation throughout the UnitedStates and around the world. As oneof the largest, most powerful airsweepers in existence, the SchwarzeA7000 HS is an ideal choice for usein a wide range of demanding runwayhigh speed sweeping applications.The A7000 HS’s blower systemgenerates a high velocity air columnthat is propelled into the top of thesweeping head through a 14 inchblast tube. The air is first pressurizedin the upper chamber of the sweep-ing head, then expelled into the

head’s lower chamber through whatis called a ‘blast orifice.’ This is a slotin the sweeping head that forces theair against the pavement at an angle,creating a ‘peeling’ or ‘knifing’ effect.This high volume air blast loosensthe debris from the pavement sur-face, then transports it across thewidth of the sweeping head and lifts itinto the containment hopper via a 10inch suction tube. This highly efficientsystem ensures that even hard-to-reach particles hidden within pave-ment cracks and irregularities areremoved.

This includes asignificant amount ofthe ‘PM-10 fines’known to contain ahigh percentage ofheavy metals and otherpollutants. That's why the A7000 HShas been certified as ‘Rule 1186Compliant’ by the South Coast AirQuality Management District, one ofsouthern California's leading stateenvironmental agencies.To assure debris transfer with minimalfugitive dust escapement, double-belted curtains on the front and rearof the sweeping head contain thecirculating air flow. This prevents dirty,debris-laden air from entering into theatmosphere as fugitive dust particles.

Auxiliary Engine –The A7000 HS’s sweeping compo-nents – hydraulic, dust control, andblower systems – are powered by a115 horsepower, turbocharged, JohnDeere Powertech® auxiliary engine.This powerful auxiliary engine allowsthe A7000 HS to be operated at alower rpm than most competitors.When combined with the efficiencyand quiet operation of Schwarze’sexclusive, patent-pendingWhisperWheel SM blower system, thisfactor reduces operating noise leveland increases expected engine life.To ensure a cleaner supply of air, theauxiliary engine has a 2-stage, drytype air filter with a centrifugalprecleaner, and the air intake ispositioned at the top of the sweeper. A

3-point automatic shutdown systemeliminates the potential for enginedamage due to low coolant level, highcoolant temperature or low oil pres-sure. These factors help ensure a longservice life for the Schwarze A7000HS’s John Deere auxiliary engine.

Hydraulic System –The A7000 HS’s hydraulic systemfeatures a direct drive, gear-drivenpump. This allows the A7000 HS toperform one-pass sweeping even

under extreme conditions. And, toensure hydraulic system protection,a preset bypass relief valve is built-in.Standard operation produces a fluidflow rate of 13 gallons per minute. Thelarge 25 gallon hydraulic reservoirhas a 12,500 BTU cooler, whichdecreases oil temperature andextends the life of the hydraulicpumps, torque motors, hoses andfluid.Standard on the A7000 HS is a 12volt backup hydraulic system. Thishas several important environmentaland safety benefits. In areas wherefugitive dust containment is a con-cern, the 12 volt hydraulic systemmay be used to lower the sweepinghead prior to starting the auxiliaryengine, as well as to raise the headwhen sweeping is finished. The12 volt backup hydraulics may also beused to dump the hopper.

Commercial Chassis –Schwarze A7000 HS sweepers aremounted on standard production,commercial chassis that meet OSHArequirements for ride and comfort,and have a proven track record insafety and reliability. Commercialchassis mounting allows A7000 HSsweepers to travel at normal highwayspeeds, which saves time and allowsmore actual sweeping per shift. Aminimal parts supply needs to bekept in stock by owners, since partsand service are readily available atlocal commercial chassis distributors.The entire unit is much easier to workon than a sweeper mounted on a‘purpose-built’ chassis. Often, theA7000 HS can even be mounted on achassis that’s currently utilized in theowner’s fleet, so that operatortraining and other costs may bereduced. The added familiarity andcomfort of astandard produc-tion chassis alsocontributes to ahigher level ofproductivity by theoperator.

Gutter Brooms –The A7000 HS’s vertical, steel-diggergutter brooms measure 44 inches indiameter and are driven hydraulically.Their free-floating design allows themto follow the contour of the pavementand gutter, while a spring impactprotection system enables an inwardswing of the broom(s) when animmovable object is encountered.

The66 inch long, 12 inch diameter broomtransfers debris toward the 10 inchsuction tube, leaving the finer materi-als for the high pressure blast orifice.The Mechani-PneumaticPowerhood SM option puts the A7000HS in direct competition with me-chanical broom sweepers for mostsweeping applications. Hopper –The A7000 HS hopper features an 8.4cubic yard volumetric capacity. Thislarge size requires less dumping,thereby maximizing sweeping time.The A7000’s construction is of durable10 gauge steel further reinforced for

additional strength.To provide fast and complete unload-ing, the A7000 HS’s hopper door isfull height, full width, and unlatchesand opens hydraulically. Thesefeatures make interior hopper mainte-nance easier and safer for the

operator. To ensure a quick, stabledumping operation, twin cylinderssafely raise the hopper to a 53 degreeangle. Use of 4" by 16" cylinders hasreduced the standard dump cycle by35%. The dumping operation may becontrolled from either inside oroutside of the cab.Large inspection doors are located onboth sides of the A7000 HS’s hopper.These doors provide an easy way tomanually load debris that is too largeto be picked up through the suctionhose. They also provide convenientaccess for hopper inspection andcleaning. An optional hopper drainhose located behind the dump doorallows water to empty out, leavingmore space for solid debris. As an aidto easy and thorough hopper cleanout,Schwarze’s Hopper Deluge SM internalwashdown system is also availableas an option. For those who insist onmaximum hopper life, Schwarze alsooffers its Four Point Protection SM

package.Thisconsists ofa stainlesssteel debris hopper with an extradurable interior coating. The exterioris first covered with a two-part ure-thane primer. Then, a two-parturethane top coat of Dupont Imron®

Dust Suppression andWater System –Larger debris particles are sepa-rated from the airstream by theSchwarze- exclusive sawtoothdust separation screen. Its design

ensures efficient air flow and reducedplugging. The A7000 HS’s self-dumping dust separator then uses thecentrifugal action of the fan to ejectmost smaller particles from theregenerative air flow. Finally, thefinest dust is removed from theairstream by the A7000 HS’s water-based dust suppression system. Thisfeatures in-cab controls, with 11 waternozzles located as follows: 5 on thesweeping head, 2 at each gutterbroom, and 2 inside the hopper. Aspray bar is also available for thefront bumper. Water is stored in a 250gallon polyethylene tank. Another 350gallon water tank may be added tosweepers mounted on a caboverchassis. Water pressure is suppliedby a electrically-driven pump.
