Pyranha have been manufacturing kayaks in the

North West of England since 1971. Over the last

44 years we have supported local paddlers and

world class expeditions, developed some of the

most innovative products on the market, won

numerous industry awards and in the process

become Europe’s leading specialist manufacturer

of canoes and kayaks. Every boat is designed by

our international team and built in Great Britain.

Owned and run by kayakers, we are committed

to being on the leading edge of kayak design

across all our brands. As paddling enthusiasts,

we also cherish the waters where we enjoy our

sport and we strive to reduce our impact on the

natural environment. At Pyranha we make constant

improvements to our whole production process

to support these goals. Developing the most

technologically advanced materials, using industry

leading processing methods and implementing

detailed quality control systems means we can

produce truly world class kayaks and help reduce

our impact on the environment at the same time.

MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN

Technology advances at an incredible pace; we

are constantly researching, innovating and trialling

progressive approaches to the design of canoes

and kayaks. 90% of these ideas never make it into

production, either due to our own limitations or

those of the machinery and processes available at

that time, but we are enthusiasts making boats for

other enthusiasts, so we carry on.

This approach to the manufacture of canoes

and kayaks has seen us constantly pushing its

boundaries over the past 25+ years, all from our

headquarters and factory in Cheshire, England.

In 2015, we revisited an idea we fi rst trialled in 1991,

but at the time were unable to control well enough

for it to be viable for production; it’s amazing what

25 years of machinery advancements, experience

and thought can do though, and we’re pleased to

say that this time we successfully produced the

advanced material that we now call, ‘CoreLite X’.

CoreLite X is a huge step forward in the

construction of sandwich layer polyethylene

canoes and kayaks, produced with a high

degree of precision, and fi nely tuned to give the

following benefi ts:

Metallocene Polymer Technology And Production

Pyranha is at the forefront of polymer technology.

We use cutting edge metallocene polymer to

balance the competing demands placed on a

kayak in the whitewater environment. Our state

of the art polymers blend impact resistance with

stiff ness. This allows our hulls to have both high

shock absorbency to resist impact and wear, and

high stiff ness for performance and paddler safety.

In 1983, Pyranha developed the industry’s fi rst

computer controlled moulding process. We’ve

been refi ning this system ever since, and have

been producing variable thickness kayak shells

for 28 years. Our computerized ovens allow us to

manipulate the moulding process to selectively

reinforce high wear areas with more plastic. This

makes it possible for us to optimise performance,

weight, durability and safety in our designs.

Our custom built, energy effi cient ovens are the

most advanced in the industry allowing us to truly

get the best performance out of the metallocene

polymer we use.

Quality

Keeping high standards of quality is a top priority

at Pyranha, every eff ort is made to ensure each

boat that leaves the factory is tough enough to

be used in the conditions it is designed for. Since

1995 every polymer development and new colour

has been independently tested for impact and

toughness. Every kayak is drop tested to check for

brittleness and every batch is ultrasonically tested

for thickness.

Environmental

We have been industry leaders in energy effi ciency

for many years and our new factory has given

a 25% reduction in gas usage due to innovative

heat retention systems. Our energy utilization per

kayak is the lowest in the industry and we have

been recycling our waste polymer since the 1990’s.

Pyranha are committed to reducing our impact

on the environment while producing the world’s

premier canoes and kayaks.

Bow ‘Step Out’ Pillar

Provides highest level of structural

support to the deck, essential in high

pressure situations. Can be used to step

out of the kayak in the event of a pin

and also makes an excellent

carry support.

Mini Cell Foam Pillars

This black closed cell foam gives high

structural integrity to the deck to help

prevent it collapsing under pressure.

Hull Stiff ener

Links front and rear pillars to the seat to

form a safety cage around the paddler

and help prevent collapse in the event

of a pin.

The new Fusion SOT combines the forgiving hull of

the proven Fusion crossover kayak with an open

top design that will appeal to paddlers who prefer

the simplicity of a sit-on-top. The Fusion SOT has a

stable, nimble hull that runs rivers and surfs waves

with ease. Drop the retractable skeg and you can

cruise fl atwater sections or quiet backwaters. A dry

hatch provides plenty of room for overnights and

exploration. Fun on moving water and quick across
